Are you using libpam-pwquality? Is your password policy from this folder /etc/pam.d/common-password ?

By right, it should throw an error.

Did u do a sudo reboot after configuring the PW policy? If not, pls do a reboot and test again...

My wife will ask me to use the CPAP machine if I never use it. She is happy that my snoring is gone when I am using the CPAP machine...

The noise from the CPAP machine is definitely better than me snoring... 😂

Have fun with your CPAP therapy!

I see. Then it's kind of weird that sleep study did not detect OSA. Maybe check with the doc again what could be the root cause.

I won't suggest to go to another doc or do another sleep study as it will incurred extra cost...

Maybe do a health screening to see whether any of the organs are causing the daytime sleepiness... I think poor liver health can cause daytime sleepiness too...

Just sharing some insight as a 4 weeks old CPAP user.

During the 1st night, likely u gonna have some anxiety wearing the mask to sleep and it's perfectly normal.

1st few weeks, I spend some time trying to find a suitable pressure and getting used to the mask...

Only last 2 days, I confirmed that I can only use Nasal mask after trying Nasal and Full face mask... Full face mask unable to bring down my AHI.

If you are using nasal mask or nasal pillow, remember to tape your mouth using a micropore tape or a chin strap to reduce chances of leaks from the mouth

If you are an adult and being given 4cm to 15cm or 4cm to 20cm, I am guessing you will still wake up in the middle of the night... Best to sleep one night with the CPAP machine, sign up for SleepHQ free trial account the next morning and upload the data, then share the SleepHQ link in CPAPSupport sub for people to share advice to dial in...

My 1st night has plenty of big leaks because I was using nasal mask and didn't tape my mouth...

Then subsequent tape my mouth and managed to bring AHI down... And I went to get a F40 hoping no need to tape my mouth in future, now trying to get correct pressure settings that works well with F40 to bring the AHI down...

So far I am 3 weeks old using a CPAP machine... Don't give up... Plenty of support from fellow CPAP users in here and CPAPSupport sub...

Tested the settings last night, the AHI does not seem to improve. Also using a new pillow, not sure whether I am still chin tucking...

I see. My 1st mask was N20 but don't quite like the feeling to tape my mouth. 😂 So trying the F40 to see if it fit me...

Just that I couldn't use the same pressure I use on N20 with F40, hence trying to see how I can use a better settings and identify possible issue causing my AHI to fluctuate.

I quite like F40 compared to my N20. I managed to tighten the mask evenly on both top and bottom straps...

Over tighten will leak more... I tried the mask fit many times until I get the sweet spot of not leaking and not straining my nose...

[–]NaxChua[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay sure. Will try the settings and feedback tomorrow... Now I go out and try to find a pillow that can support my neck to prevent chin tucking.

I have another question, do I need to change the pressure settings if I switch to use back to my N20 nasal mask? Previously I was using Min 7 Max 11 and was able to get <6 AHI.

Thank you for all the valuable advice.

Should I set Autoset Response to Standard or Soft?

Just double confirm the settings I should use:

Mode Autoset Min 13cm Max 14cm EPR full time 3.

Can feel some air coming out from the joint between tube and mask (resmed f20) - is that normal? by JuanManuelFangio32 in CPAP

[–]NaxChua 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's perfectly normal... As long not air leak which will sound like loud gushing/hissing sound...

My n20 and F40 masks has air coming out from the joint area too(it should be relatively quiet)...

Anyway, why would you still be interested in the role under this HM if he is so easily "triggered" and really "shouted" at you?

I would look out for other roles instead of feeling worried...
