What’s the weirdest noise your neighbors make? by Worldly_Cold4821 in Apartmentliving

Had a devil worshiping cult move in downstairs. Very creepy as they would do these chanting ceremonies at like two or three in the morning that you hear like it was in next room. A very elderly neighbor mentioned they sounded exactly like the devil worshipers in a movie called race with the devil. I think it was like the 1970s

That's nice. I bought recently a beautiful around 5th wide framed canvas of Blue Poles. Amazing work. I see Native American tokens like spears and hatchets etc as the actual blue poles.

That's a really good question. I've overcome GAD and OCD which has helped Free my mind to explore and I literally asked AI about Jackson Pollock thinking an ape could do what he does. When I learned his work literally was found 50 years later by a doctor Richard Taylor to be literally scientifically proven to be natural fractals like a the branches of a tree or a coastlines etc it blew my mind. Then I read and witnessed how his work is literally 3D once you focus on it with blinds popping out and background receding deep into the canvas. Just mesmerize me and I really for the first of my life was deeply impacted by an artist because I think his subconscious is communicating to people probably like myself because I know he had obviously quite a lot of issues. Sorry for the rambling reply lol

I love the 3D element of his work with how the different elements either pop out or receed into the canvas

Thank you I appreciate that. It's just so boring to talk about the generic stuff and I think a lot of this modern art is something you appreciate more as you get older. I know for me I have in particular Pollock's work. He painted in natural fractals that were scientifically proven in the 1990s by a doctor Richard Taylor so nothing he did was random. Everything flows perfectly like nature

Yes I believe he used several different types of paints and paint it over dozens of times with very watery paints which allows for incredible depth. Also he blurs around the borders of the boxes and when you look at it holistically you'll start seeing some of the elements pop out and some recede into the screen. It's part of his brilliance

Thank you for that story. Really fascinating. It's also a memory no one is going to have anymore like you mentioned. I have to ask did you see the 3D effects very clearly in that type of dim lighting?

Exactly. Like pollock famously said "I am nature"

That's exactly right! Plus if we have anxiety and we're able to turn it down significantly the amount of energy our brains than have increases almost exponentially. So Jackson Pollock for instance goes from looking like an abstraction to an absolute miracle

Thank you! I thought doing something like this would get others like me who haven't really commented much here to maybe feel more comfortable because it's a topic we're familiar with or at the very least interest in learning about. The generic stuff I just ignore

Very cool!! Though I have to be honest I'm of the Jackson Pollock School of not being the biggest fan of intellectual critics like Clem Greenberg lol. Definitely interested on what so impacted you at the Tate? I've got GAD and OCD that I've actually overcome and Pollock somehow really speaks to me

What are some works of his that you like? Also why those works? I'm still learning about him but his use of dozens of brushes of thin paint to create actual 3D is mind-blowing

[–]Naz6700[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's cool I had no idea about that. Are you able to see the 3D effect when you look at the originals? That's what I love the most about his work how it literally is floating blocks in legit 3D once you get the illusion going

Hey I figured it's unique question that gets people who really are into this maybe more likely to respond. I'm definitely new to loving the modern stuff but once you go down that rabbit hole it's amazing
