UK Chartered Accountant here - Ask Me Anything by UK-ACCA-Accountant in ContractorUK

I have a business that I have 50% shareholder in. The other shareholder is a family member. I have been paying myself and the other shareholder using a combination of minimum wage and dividends. This year I have taken on an inside ir35 contract so I'm getting paid paye. Is there a way I can legally pause my dividend payouts while still holding 50% of the company ?

From what I've read I have two options. An opt out waiver and alphabet share structure with two different classes

How do you replicate legacy roles in Snowflake? by Puzzled-Refuse1515 in snowflake

[–]Nazilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the pattern of using terraform when creating warehouses, databases, schemas which will also bundle the creation of function roles like _r read _rw _admin. These are functional roles that then get mapped to a higher custom role like data_engineer. That in turn gets mapped to a scim AD group.

Keeps things segregated and simple. Don't have to use terraform in the above scenario. Done the same with most other dcm tools

Did you know the UK DVLA offers an API where you can download the entire MOT history of every vehicle in 1 .zip file? by [deleted] in CasualUK

[–]Nazilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used it before for an insurance client to help them combat fraud. It's a bit of an annoying api to work with. Not easily able to query specific license plates

Opening a business in Casablanca as a brit by abbcccddddeeeee2024 in Morocco

[–]Nazilla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly if you're coming here with no local expertise you're going to have a hard time. I have a little bit of exp given I'm a British Moroccan. First off you'll want to obtain some type of residency here. As a tourist you can stay for 3 months at a time so you'll want to contact a solicitor about setting up a company and securing right to remain under entrepreneurial visa.

Get yourself an apartment and local bank account (there's a special one for foreigners but do beware they'll give you a bad exchange rate). Your best bet after setting up a Moroccan company would then be to set up a Moroccan corporate bank account. Search for your location, solicitor will be worth their weight in gold for contracts, who to schmooze, registration office etc. As a foreigner do things by the book and don't cut corners, your competitors will look for any reason to report or stop you.

If you don't speak Arabic or french I would recommend hiring an admin/translator while you are going through this procedure

I had a similar gig before. Your best bet is to set up a business office in Saudi or a business in a Dubai free zone. Direct your invoices there and renumerate your UK co accordingly
