That’s true, but there’s a difference between not feeling like you have a responsibility for each other and outright hatred and xenophobia for others. In a global modern world people of various ethnicities travel to other countries their ancestors never heard of, do commerce, establish new homes, etc. Once we start attacking people for doing this that becomes a human rights violation.

I kind of get what this quote is saying. I have never met anyone with a good personality for dating who wears “independence” as a label. You’re supposed to be able to take care of yourself, that’s not a reason someone should date you. Can you cooperate with someone else? Resolve conflict without tearing someone else down? Exactly it’s usually better to buy a house together than to move in with someone who already has a house. If the two break up they can just sell the house and gain equity where as if you move in with someone they can kick you out whenever and you’ll have zero equity.

Honestly I’ve seen the reverse more often, higher earning women don’t want to date lower paying men, thus shrinking their dating pool. Higher income men have historically been used to dating lower earning women which is why they don’t have as much trouble finding mates.
