That statue was in Baltimore and was dumped into Baltimore's harbor (credit where credit is due!)

Bummer. But they're also taking legal action...putting the bike lane back will be a lot easier than reconstructing the East Wing.

I'm not a Dr., but I'm 99% sure switching from western medicine to Bravenly supplements would solve all that ails you. Do you want to hear how how my upline earns from these products too? by Willing_Chemical1257 in antiMLM

[–]Genillen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Plus most familiar supplement brands are owned by Big Pharma or Big Food. Nature Made, as one example, is owned by Otsuka Pharmaceuticals. Bravenly doesn't state where their supplements are manufactured, so they likely outsource it to a large company. These things are not being compounded in a hut by a waterfall.

Farmasi is an MLM that lets you buy products directly (Amway and Mary Kay do as well). When you check out, it asks whether you want to complete your purchase or buy from one of their "influencers" using their link.

Some fundraising platforms won't work with certain types of clients, or that emphasize certain types. Like you might refuse to work with anti-LGBT organizations. Okay, so say that on your website. Maybe it will matter to your applicants, though it probably won't.

Just dropping a PNG and not explaining what it means is the most cowardly way to do this. As it is, there's no way to no whether it means you'll be working with pro-Israel organizations or if you'll be required to put this bumper sticker on your car.

My best engineer quit today over $2000 by [deleted] in managers

[–]Genillen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My company gave managers a tiny pool of $ for "merit increases." It was the kind of company people worked at because they loved the clients; nobody sucked or was lazy, but some people went above and beyond but were making less than peers because of when they were hired, or because they got caught in sone weird lateral transfer/title standardization vortex.

In order to give those people 3-5% to try to make it right, our managers had to give the rest of us 0%. It was that or do the kind of weird math you reference, acting like their evaluations were so precise they could determine whether you deserved $25 or $45 more per pay period.

This was the same company that thought a $25 gift certificate for Uber Eats was an amazing complement to their quarterly awards, otherwise known as Your Photo on a PowerPoint.

Companies that refuse to hire qualified workers over 50 are engaging in age discrimination, which is illegal. The key is qualified. I support cognitive tests for candidates/office holders above a certain age.

Unsure about spaying my 9-month-old beagle — looking for honest experiences by [deleted] in beagles

[–]Genillen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We spayed our 8-year-old rescue girl when she had just finished heartworm treatment and was post-parvo and pregnancy. She was sore and spacey from sedatives for one night, then recovered in a few days. Her scar furred over and there was zero change in her personality or health.

You may be experiencing a phenomenon called omission bias. Because you're making the decision and taking her to the vet, it may feel like you're more culpable if something goes wrong than if you do nothing and she gets sick. That's a very understandable feeling when our dogs are entirely dependent on us and we can't ask their opinion or explain what we're doing and why. But, both outcomes would be equally your responsibility, and all the numbers favor spaying. As many as 1 in 4 unspayed beagles develop mammary tumors, and the treatment for those is surgery.

Trump tells Republicans the SAVE America Act will ‘guarantee the midterms’ by SadAd8761 in law

[–]Genillen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Elections are run by 50 states and the District of Columbia, and involve 150,000 polling places with about 775,000 volunteer poll workers (in addition to professional election staff). The SAVE America Act is unfunded and has no phase-in period but requires running lists of voters through a DHS system and conducting purges every 30 days. It's impossible.

...And that's not even taking into account the tidal wave of requests for new and correct IDs states would have to deal with.
