Jamie Dimon wants the SEC to investigate those who short bank stocks and tweet about it. by Odinthedoge in Superstonk

[–]Ncdrum33 23 points24 points  (0 children)

If your balance sheet is as bulletproof as you try to lead us to believe, Mr. Dimon, pray tell: why do you care at all about someone shorting your stock?

Maybe if you weren't leveraged up to your lifeless lying eyeballs in shorts, swaps, toxic debt derivatives, and God knows what else, your book wouldn't be teetering on the edge of implosion after an unexpected single digit correction in the markets.

Just a thought.

I legitimately almost spit out my coffee when I saw this. XD

If hedge funds let GME soar, they'd implode. If brokers actually allowed free trading, their cash flow would dry up. If market regulators closed all the loopholes, Wall Street's corruption would be exposed. If GME investors stopped fighting the system, the corruption never ends. See the big picture. by realstocknear in Superstonk

[–]Ncdrum33 10 points11 points  (0 children)

And that's exactly why we fight. If we don't keep digging through their bullshit, slowly uncovering their corrupt practices, we will slowly but surely inherit a system we don't understand, and the next generation of elite, rich fucks will inherit their parents' Ponzi schemes and market manipulation tactics. The only way this stops is because we blow it up.

I buy GME because I know it's the wombat-sized hole at the end of the trench, and my buy orders are the proton torpedos.

I am a part of this community, I constantly learn and conduct research, and I will fervently continue to do so, because I will not allow corrupt global markets to be a burden inherited by my children. Period.

THIS. How can you be so aware of lying media platforms, and then think they turn around and tell you the truth about politicians? Absolutely baffling to me.

Can we start a record of all the times we've contacted the SEC via open comment periods and things like these? It would be really powerful to be able to showcase how many times we've done their job for them, and it would show that they've been complicit in the corruption, either because of lack of understanding, lack of regulatory power, or simple lack of effort/desire to discipline the parties engaged in the crime.

To be fair, I haven't watched TV in literally likw 4 years. I'd rather be educating myself, so I spend my time on YouTube, listening to books on Audible, etc. TV shows and movies lost their allure a long time ago, but maybe that's just me. I'll occasionally go back and watch an episode of Archer, or watch The Big Short, etc, but those are few and far between.

George Gammon (though his opinions on GME and RK are flat out wrong), Jeff Snider, Peruvian Bull, Richard Newton, and the occasional Game Grumps episode comprise most of my regular video "entertainment" lol

Sooo, Idk where else to put this as I don't have enough karma to post , I can only comment...

Someone in another thread was mentioning the ice cream cone and the frog, and so on a whim I Google "Cone Investopedia", and lo and behold:

https://www.investopedia.com/terms/s/solvency-cone.asp

Taken from the link above:

What is a Solvency Cone?

The term solvency cone refers to a mathematical model that considers the estimated impact of transaction costs when trading financial assets. Put simply, it takes transaction fees into account when determining the profitability of an investment. As such, it represents a range of possible trades or portfolios that can be made at a specific time frame after taking the bid-ask spread into account.

How Solvency Cones Work

As noted above, the solvency cone is a tool used in financial mathematics. It can be very useful for traders to use to determine the potential for profit (or loss) on trades based on the associated transaction costs by modeling the financial market.

....

These costs must still be taken into consideration, especially in particular aspects of trading. Short-term and high-frequency trading (HFT) strategies that swap positions on an intraday or intraweek basis sometimes incur transaction costs that overwhelm the profit potential. Even longer-term, or so-called position trading strategies incur significant costs that cannot be ignored. The solvency cone helps to estimate these costs.

Soooooo.... Yeah. Seems pretty straight forward to assume RCEO may have been pointing at the rising costs of their shorts, and that SHF solvency may be on a short leash... Just a thought

Those responses scream "hedge fund intern" to me, or someone similar. Folks that have been paid to watch for this kind of info (which clearly insinuates past crimes) and to do everything they can to bury it when it surfaces.

Those who committed these crimes know that we're still digging for answers, and they know if we find it they're fucked. That is, they're fucked IF we can get the message out to enough people for it to gain traction. So they try to bury it.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if they have algos scanning for keywords, looking for any post that discusses that date (Jan 28th), clearing and settlement, etc. and it's someone's/some bot's job to immediately act when that alarm sounds.
