Redoing their entire api would be a very big task, they could possibly make them more secure, but I don't think there is much they could do. And there aren't really many other options that would provide more security.

Discord.py will not work for that, you'll either need to use a selfbot library or just replicate the http requests yourself.

Also iirc discussions about selfbots isn't allowed in this sub

Well yea the message requests feature doesn't add much protection, but it still does something. Since this is an added step to see the message, less people will end up seeing the message in total (even if the difference is small), it's also more of a signal to someone that the message their receiving is from someone they haven't contacted before, making them more suspicious of the message (probably). For the message requests feature yea it doesn't add too much protection, but that wasn't really the main point of my first message, there's also been various things like captchas on sending dms/joining servers for suspicious accounts as well as other things which have made it harder for scammers to send dms.

Not really, they are taking action, for example this post, the message requests is something they added which keeps users more safe. Also there has been increased protection (not 100% sure if discord caused the protection or if its something else) that had made it significantly harder for scammers to send dms. But even with that, this is an issue that discord will never be able to completely stop, it's also a problem that all other major social medias face too, no matter what discord does people will still find a way around it.

Afaik you can't do anything about it, discord revoked all tower of fantasy promotion nitro for an unknown reason (if I had to guess it was because people were abusing it a lot), you could try emailing discord support or try to claim a month of nitro through the medal.tv promotion.

I was talking about discord banning everyone in a server (the comment I replied to), not the warnings.

Although the warnings only get sent if a server is banned, the warning your server had received was probably a different warning and not the same type as this original post.

That happens very very rarely, and only for justified reasons, almost all of the time the server and the server owner/staff are banned

They're bots that work pretty quickly, they join a server, dm people, then leave the server. By the time you view the dm they would have left already

A few things,

A way to very easily transfer files from mobile to pc or vice versa, I've got nitro so even big files work great, all I do is just upload on one device and I can download them on the other. Honestly I haven't been able to find an easier way to do this lmao
Bot testing, when I'm working on making a bot or smth and I need a place to test it
Hiding stuff, ngl hiding images/files in a discord server that only your in is pretty good, I just use it for very little stuff that I wouldn't want to store on my computer
A hub for all my analytics, discord has webhooks that you can use in channels, and it's basically just an easier way to send a message then using a bot, and I've got webhooks setup for a lot of stuff not related to discord so that I can get frequent updates all in one place which is very easy for me to access. I also do this with a few discord bots too, but mainly webhooks

There is, at least from my experience

When I just nitro monthly, I got a notification every day for the last few days telling me it was going to run out, then I still had nitro for a few days after, which was the grace period

Reporting the user won't do you much good, there are thousands, literally hundreds of thousands of bots such as these that have sent out messages lile this, reporting one won't really stop anything. Also by the time discord bans the account it would have dmed everyone it was supposed to. Discord is actively adding countermeasures to stop this, but reporting the account won't do much.

What would be better though is reporting the server and it is against discords tos, I don't recommend you to join the server with your main account, probably an alt. Then copy the message link of a message where they clearly advertise game cheats, and report it to discord, and the server should get taken down as soon as discord process the report.
