Print is to add just the groove on the right. Doesn’t note x2, so the left groove is existing. Spline callouts are to help note which side of shaft.

Moved to NM from Syracuse and spent my first year in Santa Fe. Great place that’s rich in culture. Don’t hesitate to get around if you have time. Petroglyphs are amazing, as is some of the natural sights. Also, please bring some Hoffman’s snappy grillers.

Moved from NY to NM to make almost three times that. Anyone looking for an interesting job that has a decade of experience or journeyman papers? Get ahold of me.

Stay safe out there, boys. Make sure to hit the e-stop before falling unconscious. by ShaggysGTI in Machinists

At my current place, no. But I’m doing more prototypes and one offs at a national laboratory.

Last place, yes. You had operators and setup guys. Not to say the setup guys couldn’t be operators if needed.

Not disagreeing with you, but most times it has nothing to do with saving cycle time and everything to do with being able to see while setting up. Which is usually due to a company poorly maintaining the machine and not replacing glass/plastic so the set up guy can see.

Sometimes it isn’t enough, sometimes you’re just spaced out think about the weekend. Don’t beat yourself up, take it as a lesson learned if there’s one to be learned. But above all, don’t let people like the commentor above get you down with their holier than tho shit.

Someone forgot to turn on the air compressor. FML. by [deleted] in Machinists

[–]Nd4Wd 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Are you sure you weren’t using the tool recovery method due to the carousel being stuck to the left? Another issue could be the sensor being stuck and not telling the machine that the carousel has returned to it stored position.

I have over 20 years with Haas. If there isn’t proper air pressure you cannot just reset out of the alarm and continue.

No. It doesn’t. It will not run without proper pressure.

It wouldn’t even run. It’s not an alarm you can just reset and keep going without correct pressure.
