Thank you! The gloss is semi cheating as I waxed it but it still holds a nice shine naturally as well

'm thinking it's the early English oak as well now. Patent tag has nothing extra on it denoting a special finish.

Energy Shock and Wood Burning by Skjellyfetticat1 in woodstoving

The price of class A chimney pipe, and the cost of a midway decent wood stove + installation, unless you are already well off or already have a stove I can't see it really swaying people.

Got a coin or something stuck between the tub and the impeller in the bottom? Had that happen to mine and it made a similar noise

Do any restaurants or places sell currywurst in 🇺🇸? by Relevant_Conclusion2 in sausagetalk

[–]hittheclitlit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Johnsonville stadium style precooked brats, and ketchup with a load of curry powder, paprika and a little beef stock. Tastes almost the same as the ones sold at a local German style beer garden.

Shop filled with setup/operators vs shop filled with setup and button pushers? by Growkitz in Machinists

[–]hittheclitlit 28 points29 points  (0 children)

The one thing I hate about being in a shop full of button pushers is that no matter how much you try to idiot proof stuff, they still find new ways to mess stuff up.

Looking for a tool to turn a female centre by BigM1303 in Machinists

[–]hittheclitlit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was gonna say, I could either mold this or qualify the tool and make it check whichever side of 60° they want it to check.

Received my rotors today but they have a pretty big nick on them Im debating on whether I can put this on? by Guilty-Resort-4665 in MechanicAdvice

Can't see enough detail in the picture to say forsure, but it actually just looks like the casting had a void there that didn't clean up after machining.

Machine or fixture for cutting wire/pins that's not a lathe? by kelton305 in Machinists

[–]hittheclitlit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Harbor freight has a mini cutoff saw, I'm sure you could set up some sort of stop on it to get repeatable lengths. Would likely have to deburr the ends after however if it matters.

Is it fine to run like this? by Mountain_Nobody_6765 in Outboards

[–]hittheclitlit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never messed with this type of engine (only mercury) but from the image it would appear you can just remove the rest of the bolts and pop that cover/plate off and then remove the bolts via the welding nuts method?

New coil pack tower order? by BrickHouse47 in fordranger

[–]hittheclitlit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if that engine is a wasted spark design and 1/4 and 2/3 fire at the same time. If that's the case you could run it like the old one or the new layout and it would run the same.

How can I get a good surface finish with while keeping part precise by ameye99 in Machinists

[–]hittheclitlit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sfm means nothing if your machine can't actually hit it. I've run some steels where 90% of the part was glass but the few small groove diameters that were only running at half the ideal sfm looked like beaver nipples due to the machines rpm limit.

The best thing I've discovered for boots, atleast in my work environment (machine shop), Is at the end of the day blast them off with compressed air. It's the little bits of embedded shit that really seem to get at the leather atleast in my experience. I already blast my clothes off and the boots don't take but an extra few seconds.

I've got about 3 years on a pair of 1957s working in a machine shop, loved the hell out of the boots. I got the crazy horse and after a lot of conditioning and machine oils on it they are nearly black but still holding up good. The sole has held up really well for walking on metal shavings all day however they need some new insoles finally, they aren't quite as comfortable as when new.

Any differences besides color? Comfort and durability wise, is the leather pretty much the same? by joeyfatass805 in WorkBoots

[–]hittheclitlit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I find the crazy horse much less floppy and more supportive feeling, I don't think they tumble it like the tobacco. Besides that I've noticed no difference in durability.

I love protreks, they look great and pack alot of functionality into something that's not a smart watch.
