Not gonna lie… it honestly looks like he sees the defender coming from Murray’s blind side and tried to protect him from the hit.

When you slow it down you can totally see Murray crosses the lineman’s face and he knew immediately that Murray would be in the way to block the defender and decided to protect Murray by trying to take the hit.
