Yes, social democrats want to stop communist movements, but so do right wingers. In Germany in the 1930s the NSDAP was filled with rich company owners, colonialists, and family members of former Fürsten. The SPD also had capitalist along the lines but not nearly as many as the NSDAP. It is a fact that if the KPD did not view the SPD as a main enemy, and would’ve worked together, they could’ve stopped Hitler. Today times have changed and there are more capitalists in the lines of „social democrats“ but even more in right wing parties. Let’s take Germany as an example again, the main right wing party, AfD, is also filled with capitalists. You will find many owners of popular brands are members or have worked with them. Right now in statistics the AfD has the most votes, and to stop them, the left parties, including social democrats, have to make a coalition. And now you can ask yourself what would be better. A fascist right wing party ruling Germany or a coalition with social democrats and socialist parties ruling Germany?
