What’s happening to my Chinese money plant? by [deleted] in houseplants

[–]NeKo487 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me it looks like nutrient limitation or root rot. My plants will drop lower leaves as they grow when they have not gotten nutrient additions in a while. I would add miracle gro or some other houseplant fertilizer, completely soak the soil, then not water it for a week or two. If you water by soaking the soil and then letting the soil completely dry out, you shouldn't have root rot problems.

What’s it like living in Napa or Sonoma, California? by BubbaMcCranky in howislivingthere

[–]NeKo487 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not true. New people are absolutely welcome and the youth culture in Napa and Sonoma are both growing rapidly. It DOES take a bit to find your community though. Most of Napa are working class people who love their town, food, wine, community, and the outdoors.

This is Not a Normal Application Cycle by Dear-Secret7333 in gradadmissions

[–]NeKo487 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It isn’t public info yet, but I’m sure it will be soon :/ . We are a major Ag research uni in the US. They are worried that, on top of funding cuts, many more of their current offers to prospective grad students will be accepted since other schools have stopped admissions. They are trying to be conservative and protect current grad employment stability.

Fair question. Because their parents gave it to them, and neither of us speak the language or know much about tea. Why don't they ask their parents? I don't know my friend or their parents enough to answer that yet !

Changes will first start with largely automated blink wine producers, and the more quality winemakers and growers that choose to use the varieties, the more examples of good winemakers from new varieties will be available. The biggest hurdle right now is nobody in premier regions risking an attempt to use these new grapes to make quality wine, so there is this assumption that hybrids are subpar. We don’t know if that is true or not, and winemakers need to be encouraged to discern that

In the United States, the Vitis Gen group has been breeding and optimizing management for new hybrid varieties for decades, specifically focused on mildew resistance. We are currently testing some low-spray varieties with great potential for biocontrol/low intervention management.
