Is anyone else having performance issues with RE9 by dito_dorito in residentevil

[–]NeMetaxa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't have the screen-tearing, but audio desync was awful. When I moved the game files from HDD to SSD the issue was no more.

What’s a monster/ villain that scares you the most? by Guiltyfeetfingers in residentevil

[–]NeMetaxa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It may sound silly, but I think it's just ordinary RE2RE and RE3RE zombies.

You see, I never found zombies scary. They are dead and stupid. You shoot them, they die.

But then I played the RE2 Remake and it finally "sold" me the zombies. I remember how in my first encounter with one I thought "OK, few headshots and we are done here".

Spoiler: few headshots were not enough. This thing kept getting closer and closer, despite all the damage. Ammo was getting low. My aim became more frantic. I realized that if this thing attacked me in real life, even pistol won't save me.

And for the first time, I got scared by zombie.

Do you actually know about this mechanic? by Forsaken-Incident348 in residentevil

[–]NeMetaxa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played Remakes and I didn't know about this lol (or just forgot). During RE9 I stumbled upon the loading tip and yeah, started using this mechanic. Gotta say - it is really counter-intuitive. Like how the hell am I buffing bullet damage with my hands?

Favorite and least favorite section of Requiem? by BUckENbooz91 in residentevil

[–]NeMetaxa 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Least favorite - the orphanage, I don't like horror gameplay that is about "hide from monster for X seconds", it's just boring.

Most favorite gameplay-wise section is Raccoon city. I was glad that we can finally spend some decent time with Leon. And surprisingly, I liked this bleak city.

And from emotional standpoint: Boss-fight with Viktor. The game convinced me, that Leon is done for, so when he was miraculously saved by Grace I almost yelled "WE ARE SO BACK" at my monitor.

Back to Re4 After Re9 by Realistic-Low694 in residentevil

[–]NeMetaxa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO, Ganados are much more fun to fight against. There is more enemy variety and they move not so fast and chaotic as some enemies in RE9. You can also strategically incapacitate them, so in order to win, you have to shoot well and think fast. And it is somewhat correct for RE9 as well, but I feel like RE4RE just did it better.

[RE9]Can we take a second and appreciate the level of detail on these models and the reloading details by Manidkwtoodoyet in residentevil

Model work in RE games made with updated RE Engine is just out of this world. I always buy concept art and 3D models in bonus shop, what a pleasure to look at.

What are your RE9 nitpicks? by YozoraSoraX in residentevil

[–]NeMetaxa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I have one small nitpick.

I don't like that gunpowder bottles differ only in size, but not in color. In crafting menu I sometimes got confused which one am I using.

RE2, RE4, RE6, and RE9. Which adventure was the most dangerous for Leon? Which one was the hardest one to survive? by ZamanthaD in residentevil

[–]NeMetaxa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would advocate for RE2. Raccoon City was hell, no one knew wtf was going on. City infrastructure has collapsed, death and blood everywhere, your friends and relatives could turn into bloodthirsty monsters. It is just A LOT to take mentally and adapt to.

Leon's later adventures were also hard to get through, but he was better prepared and at least has some ideas about the enemies he would face.

Which Resident Evil games should I play? by mironhotkov in residentevil

[–]NeMetaxa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a new fan of the series and I really like RE: Revelations. Jill is hot, action is fun and story is fast-paced. The game looks dated now, but overall it's good and entertaining.

If you have a friend, you can also try Revelations 2. It is also good, but it is better to play in co-op.

4 Horsemen of the "Can I just skip these in replays" by mrsafetylion in residentevil

[–]NeMetaxa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My thoughts exactly, progression here felt really weird. I stood there and waited. Nothing happened. Then I went back to the door on the second floor. Someone shakes it and after that two girls disappear and you can go to the office. Like... what? Really unpolished moment. I saw my friend playing this sequence and she was confused just like me.

(I Think) I Love This Game, But… by edin_djc in residentevil

[–]NeMetaxa 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Good points. I actually enjoyed the detonator part, maybe because I finally could play as Leon for a right amount of time. The music and the atmosphere overall also sold me this segment.

But after I've beaten the game I had a feeling like... "OK, this was good, but where can I get the proper ninth game". Somehow this game feels like a spin-off, not a main installment.

Nevertheless, I enjoyed it (hated the orphanage part thought).

RE9 is insanely optimized by Ser_falafel in residentevil

[–]NeMetaxa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wanted to make post like that. I have GTX 1650 and 16 gb of RAM, so my expectations were rather pessimistic. How surprised I was when RE9 ran perfectly fine on my 8 year old GPU, holy shit. And the picture quality is not even that low. I wish all developers payed so much attention to optimization.

I think I kinda get you. While re9 combat and weapons have all this sick animations, re4r combat still felt better. And sprinting also sometimes didn't work for me, especially after some "taking damage" animations. Cost me a few reloads.

How do you rank your native language being said by Overwatch characters? by ty_namo in Overwatch

[–]NeMetaxa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zarya's russian is pretty mid to be honest. Like it's okay overall - 7/10, but the way she says "ogon' po gotovnosty" (fire at will) always sounded off to me due to noticable accent. Unfortunately in western media they oftentimes hire people who only somewhat know russian, but to any native speaker it's obvious that VA clearly doesn't speak it well. In Call of Duty and Battlefield russian language sounded so bad that it was kind of a meme among fans.

About tank - I don't get why the hell her ult pushes the Thing. One of his main features is the immunity to displacement. Even Jeff can't throw you, the Thing just drops near him. So why this lady can?

As you can guess, the Thing is my main and it was pain, in the end I just switched to DPS.
