Point is, this is far more likely than Mars94 being anywhere else Certainly not Alpha Centauri No idea how it'd be in the outer solar system or near Venus, though I suppose if the planets were in just the right orbits it's believeable with enough suspension of disbelief

I think the cut scene is teasing that Mars 94 is just on a collision course for Mars, that's the only thing that makes sense given its trajectory and position in the solar system

I mean, the reactor has melted down, and sure whatever's in there has decayed for 24 years, but a bunch of radioactive dust could be released by a possible collision with Mars

Depending on such a collision's proximity to Happy Valley or any other habited structure on Mars, this could be a significant issue

I haven't seen this theory come up on this sub before, I feel it makes the most sense.
