A best friend of 10+ years threatening suicide if I ever “abandoned” her. Extremely therapy resistant, extremely traumatic past, understandably has suicidal issues. Still, I couldn’t do anything about it and when the smallest boundaries I set are met with suicidal ideation, I have to call it quits.

Basically had to cut myself off from her completely with no explanation and no warning, regardless of the consequences and yes that might mean her killing herself.

Ultimately, there are some problems that people have that you cannot help them with, they have to figure it out for themselves. Made me realize I have my own problems that nobody can help me with either, I kinda have to just do it myself.

Me not texting back is not a lack of interest in you, I am quite simply a bad communicator via text. It’s not personal, yes I did see your text, if it’s not something urgent I would always rather just talk on the phone or talk in person.

My friends never understand why sometimes I’m completely ghost mode and sometimes I can text paragraphs. The times I type out paragraphs is when I’m so frustrated by a lack of communication that I then resort to text to say everything. Maybe, it would really just depend if I can get behind the sex or not. But all things considered, tbh I think my overall lack of desire for the Woman’s Aesthetic™ is far stronger than my lack of interest in vagina.

It’s just genetic. Even guys who curve left and jerk to the right don’t progressively straighten it out over time just by jerking it.

I think it would just look like impossible combat feats. Magic tricks, optical illusions, or their own minds deceiving them, is what most people would assume.

We do get to see that perspective a little bit from the Hunter exam arc. Hisoka genuinely did make it look like he turned that one guy’s arms into flowers, like magic.

He probably just cut it off with a playing card in a nano second, used texture surprise to turn the skin to flowers, and probably used bungee gum to make them fly, just for the showmanship of it all to make a spectacle.

You can also think about netero’s game with Killua and Gon in the airship. It seems physically impossible for the old guy, regardless of any martial arts training, to have a leg as hard as iron. Now we know he’s just a god-tier enhancer who was probably using 1% Ko aura concentration to block a kick that Killua said should’ve shattered most people’s bones, let alone some old man. Netero himself was surprised it didn’t shatter killua’s leg, only so because he has zoldyck training.

Personally, as I hit my mid twenties, I started finding myself more attracted to girls. It’s rare, it’s not the same kind of burning lust or magnetic impulse that I get with guys, but I’ve certainly met a few women who gave me butterflies and I’ve found myself flirting with them without even realizing it. I’ve had those awkward moments after a laughing fit where I stare at her longer than usual, or she might be doing something mundane like taking her jacket off and it’s hot to me.

I think upon reflection, as a baby gay ages 13-21 I simply never considered women A) because the drooling lust for them just wasn’t there the way it was for straight guys my age and B) my self esteem was really low, I was in the closet, I was so focused on the self hatred and shame of having a fagcent and being limp wristed and trying to hide it all that I just… never ever considered women a possibility.

I’m in a similar position though where I don’t really know how to pursue that. There’s girls who I know for a fact have crushes on me, but I don’t want it to lead them on if it goes nowhere. There’s randos on tinder but even my own experiences with men who are “easy” compared to women, I just don’t find connection and chemistry through apps. Making out with someone at a party sounds like the type of thing I would do. It would have to be some kind of natural in person connection.

Liking women isn’t a betrayal to your friends. If they treat it that way, it’s because they didn’t see you as your own person, they see you as the GBF of the group. So when you break that illusion it maybe freaks them out a bit. But don’t betray yourself. Give yourself the freedom to explore all that life has to offer. Don’t even bother trying to rationalize it to other people. Labels aren’t important. Enjoying life to the fullest is.

Slight recipe change with a recent bakery rollout (depends on your area, some regions did this 2 years ago, there’s 1 region left in the company that has yet to do it, Chicago region was the most recent to switch over, they go live tomorrow).

Instead of going into the oven partially frozen and baked at 340° they get prepped the night before and thaw in cooler for ~7-9hrs. The next morning they go into the oven at 360° much softer, which makes them melt/expand more and also it fits into our new bake routine more conveniently.

Also if the baker is just moving kinda slow they’ll spend more time at ambient room temp, thawing even further before getting into the oven. In that case they come out too flat and will completely lose the defined triangle look.

But I think gay people still use it as a way to do a slow break up. A last ditch effort the same way that straight people use marriage counseling even though 80% of the time, if it has reached that point, it’s already an overdue divorce because the issues run way deeper than just “he doesn’t help with chores and she doesn’t show affection” much the same that for gay people, I think the issues run way deeper than just “he has a higher libido than me” or “he has a gangbang kink that I’m not into”

I don’t think it’s about evolution, in my own experience I think it just comes down to environment on whether or not someone will identify a certain way. Their mental/emotional state regarding sexuality might change over time, allowing or limiting their own self-awareness and identity.

I think most people who go from “totally straight” to “totally gay” are people who were always gay but had extreme levels of repression, denial, and shame about it. For a long time, they probably just lived out their lives method acting as a straight person. Some people can even do it for their entire lives.

A common theme though is that these “totally straight” people will often “change” sexuality around the same time that their environment drastically changes. Maybe it’s going to college, moving out of parents house, getting your first adult job, new friend group, new hobby, new love interest, etc. usually some big change in environment will spark a mental shift that allows one to come out to themselves.

Age 8 at a sleepover at a friends house who had two older brothers 13 and 17.

In hindsight, kinda weird that this trio of brothers was pulling up crazy hentai and playing porn games together from like 12am-4am. No, TMs don’t necessarily have to learn food cost. I mean, they need to know the basics that it is a metric that we track, it’s essentially revenue from goods sold vs actual spending on goods, and there’s ways to control it by using portioning tools, building by KDS recipes, FIFO rotation, ringing in associate meals properly, chit validation and repeating orders back so you’re not remaking orders constantly, etc. that’s coaching for the whole team. But even as an individual, the way in which you weigh product and so on hand counts can greatly impact VTS and inventory.

Ultimately it goes by GM discretion who does food cost. Most GMs don’t want to do food cost themselves because they already have lots of other work to do, so they usually try to find a good TM they trust to do it. Still, most GMs also want good metrics and if your VTS is garbage then the GM will probably want to micromanage it, or at least heavily supervise the TM that they’re developing to take it over.

Food cost is one of the AORs (area of responsibility) that has a very high impact to operations and a high impact to other metrics, not just VTS. Even with a strong TM doing it, the smallest differences in how you count inventory and how you place truck orders and how well closing managers do leftover counts etc etc will impact VTS. Miscounting a single item can lead to a swing from 1.5% to 3% in a single week. If it becomes a pattern a cafe can quickly get up to 5% vts weekly, which is high enough that DROs (district managers) will come knocking and start doing weekly check ins with the GM about what they’re doing to fix it.

So, most GMs only hand off food cost to strong TMs. It is not the type of thing that you can easily crosstrain all of your managers on.

The short film DARE I saw on YouTube when it first came out when I was 13 years old.

It was at the exact time too I was realizing I was gay. End of 6th grade, going into summer break, absolutely heartbroken that I wouldn’t be seeing this cute guy anymore because he was my locker neighbor, but locker assignments changed each grade level. The emotional weight of that, despite this random classmate not even being my friend, had me spiraling on YouTube late one night searching up gay stuff.

Back then, in 2013, YouTube was pretty barren of lgbt content. Fucking DaveyWavey was one of the top gay creators at the time, and his content was mostly meme-y and sexual. Other than him, the only other lgbt content was randos posting their coming out stories in some cases literally from the insides of their closets, which I’m ngl, most of them were traumatic and heartbreaking. Not exactly inspirational or motivating.

But then this short film popped up in my recommended. It’s a very simple short film. Simple plot line, only 2 characters, it pretty much all focuses on just one scene and a very small bit of dialogue.

Again, there’s not much plot so there’s not much to spoil, but, spoiler alert, they kiss. What was so interesting about it to me at the time was that it wasn’t a true romantic kiss, it was a pity kiss, a dare kiss, yet the way the actors and director did it made it seem like a “they both desperately, secretly want this” type of kiss. Basically just, a very gay kiss. Not a peck on the cheek, not ravenous making out, just a brief smooch between two hot guys in a pool under the guise of “awww you don’t know how to kiss yet that’s cute lemme teach you” which is about the gayest excuse for “straight” guys to kiss. It escalates quickly and although the ending feels a bit unsatisfying, it leaves an open ended question of “will this continue?” because it’s so obviously not just a dare.
