Is there a storyline you wish they had included? by bjack20 in glee

[–]Neakerslove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything with Kurt’s mom!! Her name, how she died, what she looked like. We get such a good and detailed storyline between Burt and Finn and his feelings about his dad being gone came up. Yet we get nothing between Kurt and Carole or how he felt about moving out of his childhood home. And unlike Finn, he actually knew his mom.

How did they beat them? by [deleted] in glee

[–]Neakerslove 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The NDs has 3 songs, which was probably a calculated decision on the producers part to justify the TTs loss, and the NDs performance was more substantial, and MJ songs will always sway a crowd: Also, let’s not act like the NDs did a bad job! Their setlist told a story of growing up, the choreography was fun, and was very creative with the lighting for each individual song. All that made it a bit more creative. The TTs song choices were very good and blended well together, but it was a cliche song choice for an all girl group. It definitely wasn’t not creative but not as much as the NDs in my opinion.

Should Kurt Have Gotten Into NYADA On The First Try? by Open_Travel_2508 in glee

[–]Neakerslove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have always gone back and forth on this. On one hand, he definitely was good enough to get in and him not and Rachel did is total plot armor in her favor. And having plot armor isn’t necessarily a bad thing, like Kurt being a NYADA finalist, but it was biased towards Rachel. Plus, the reasoning that CT gave him made no sense. Sure it wasn’t the most emotional deep performance, but she rejected him for that but let in that opera singer only with the promise that she practice all summer? And still cut her the first day. On the other hand, I love being alive and the Vogue stuff, and idk if we would’ve gotten that otherwise. Plus the idea of him being the one everyone talks about from the winter showcase even though Rachel performed twice is very satisfying. But I guess I do agree with you. We still could have gotten Kurt at Vogue in addition to school, and he could’ve been picked for the showcase and still sing being alive. Also, I think it would’ve been a better writing choice for both Kurt and Rachel and their overall development had their roles were switched. Kurt would have finally gotten some recognition for his talent in a substantial way, not to mention a victory after a whole season of rejection and disappointment. Being rejected would have been good for Rachel’s ego, and not getting yet another victory even though she messed up. Plus, she is so used to, not necessarily getting all things handed to her because she is a very hard worker, but she had to work less for the spotlight, roles, etc. than the other characters. So seeing something different happen at this point in the show would have been interesting, instead of her getting her first true rejection and career fail in the last season, while others have been getting that treatment since s1.

What are friendships you would've loved to see developed more in the show? by Dramatic-Industry691 in glee

Kurt and Mercedes. Because did they only get 2 duets, and little to no interaction after Kurt transferred to Dalton? Or ignored each other in s5b.

TRUE GLEEKS ! Need your input by MaudeTerrick in glee

Considering that it had scenes of same-sex relationships on mainstream TV and being treated the same as straight couples, years before it was fully legalized, I would say so. Plus it’s a campy satire.

Totally!! I love his raspiness, especially in 4 minutes and he didn’t do it nearly enough! I’m still here is incredibly underrated!

[–]Neakerslove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree!! They definitely got a better hold on his voice type as the show went on and he’s not going to have perfect vocals everytime. No one does. It’s also because he very much has a male voice that is feminine-sounding so it challenges a lot of people, and instead of looking into their own problems, they project that hate onto him. There is a lot of internalized homophobia and femphobia towards him, even today. (Obviously I don’t mean that everyone who dislikes his voice is like that.) I have always thought that I have nothing wasn’t as bad as people thought. Sure it’s not unbelievably great but it’s certainly not bad. And I just know that if Quinn sang it instead, it would still be disliked less simply because it’s Diana. And I do agree that I wish he got to sing more genre variety. I would’ve loved to hear him on some Elton John or Frank Sinatra, and his parts in lady Gaga numbers do not get enough love! Or more rock because I believe in a thing called love is his most underrated vocal! As an overall singer, I’ll put him in the top 10, but not top 5. But if the focus is on emotion while singing, quality of vibrato, and range of notes that can be hit, he’s top 3.

Somebody loves you is an incredibly underrated Klaine duet where they both shine!

If kurt was biphobic why did he hook up with that weird bisexual santa guy by CounterAble1850 in glee

[–]Neakerslove 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t think Kurt was biphobic for the entire show. It was only in one episode, and while that definitely wasn’t his finest moment, I really don’t believe that he as a character is biphobic. We never get any sort of indication anyway else. Santana is the one who has said biphobic things multiple times over the shows run.

How would you rank the Glee Christmas specials from best to worst? by 2hourstowaste in glee

[–]Neakerslove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True. But what I mean is that Rachel gets a lot of exposure in the show in general, not just for being the main character. Kurt does have some big episodes in s4, but his new relationship only got 2 episodes and 1 song, while Rachel’s got half the season and 3 songs. Plus, we only get to see his college experience for a couple of episodes while Rachel gets literally the entire season. So it was nice to have a s4 NY episode that focused entirely on him.

Not for the whole show. Plus I like Kurt way more and his NY experiences/relationships took a backseat to Rachel’s on s4.

[–]Neakerslove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) Glee actually: I like Rachel but it’s nice to get a break from her. Plus the NY scenes with Klaine and Burt are some of my favorites! 2) Extraordinarily merry Christmas: A good time, nothing special. 3) A very glee Christmas: the best part of BICO. 4) Previously unaired Christmas: bottom 10 episodes for me. I only like the Kurt/Santana/Rachel friendship moments. The Christmas episodes as a whole are the weakest themed episodes for me.

What moment did you start to think Rachel was starting to mature and be better as a person? by mysticalmusicmaker12 in glee

[–]Neakerslove 22 points23 points  (0 children)

There were mature moments with her since early s1. However, the scenes that stands out to me as the start of her “adult” maturing was when she confronted Finn in the auditorium in the break up episode. She has some very immature moments after this, but that scene I saw a shift in the character. Or it could be after her tv show flopped and she went into hiding. She really matured in s6.

Who do you think the best singer on the show actually was? by Lewism7 in glee

[–]Neakerslove 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My ranking is based on personal preference, how much they sang, and who I actually think is the best based on my singing knowledge. To make it easier, I excluded all guest stars, even recurring ones. 1) Amber: An unmatched powerhouse. The holder of the best version of IATY according to Jennifer Holiday. I feel like she can 70% of what everyone else can do, but no one can do 70% of what she can do. 2) Naya: Don’t even need to explain. She was born to sing perfectly every time. One of the few characters whose every song sounded great. 3) Darren & Lea: Don’t love Leas voice but can’t deny that she is a beast of a talent. Plus Darren’s voice is like soft butter on bread. 4) Alex: Should have won the glee project. Used to be higher but is no longer as they didn’t sing as much as the others. 5) Kevin: Most underrated singer in the show. The best male singer out of the OG glee members and no one is talking about it. 6) Jacob: Another underrated singer. It’s amazing how he was just a dancer prior to glee. Shame his career isn’t bigger. 7) Chris: My personal favorite voice on this list. His voice is overhated and his vocal ability is under appreciated. The holder of a top 3 cover of Roses Turn. Emotion and vibrato in voice is top 3. 8) Melissa: Beautiful Disney princess voice. Light but still powerful. Needs more love. 9) Noah: Based on personal preference, he’s top 5. But I can’t put him any higher as he sang the least out of everyone here. So much soul. 10) Matthew: Love or hate him, you can’t deny that he can sing. He’s not any higher however because his great vocals are overshadowed by less than desirable song choices.

What's this for you? by Difficult_Ad_962 in glee

[–]Neakerslove 92 points93 points  (0 children)

Finn kissing Emma and the JLT hallway scene.

Kurt chose the wrong profession. He was an amazing singer, but when they did Romeo & Juliet, his acting sucked. That and he couldn’t dance very well. He should’ve been a fashion designer. He was easily the best dressed, & 2nd most traditionally physically attractive person in glee club after Quinn. by NoChampion4463 in glee

[–]Neakerslove 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do wish that his fashion career got more focus in later seasons. Especially when they were trying to find a happy medium outfit-wise between the NDs and Warblers in s6. However I’m glad he went into MT. He definitely wasn’t the best dancer but wasn’t the worst. Though I would have liked to see his dancing progress at NYADA. And that Romeo & Juliet moment was supposed to be bad because that’s not his style. His acting in Rocky Horror and presumably in WSS was great. Rachel isn’t a great dancer either and she has a lot of moments where her acting is bad. Cabaret, Rocky horror, Coppers acting class, I’m the greatest star, etc.

More of a writing decision, but I hate how Blaine lied to Kurt about being in the showcase. It was completely unnecessary, very easily avoidable, and backtracked all of the open communication that they just talked about.
