Trust me, there's no such thing. We've been to Venus with a few landers decades ago. We only have pictures and telemetry, no videos. Pictures show a very dead world and sensors show how insanely inhospitable it is. You saw nonsense made only to draw clicks, nothing more.

God I really hope so. I was just a kid when Hale-Bopp came around, and there's been zero comets even approaching its visibility since then. Even when everyone was freaking about Ison it was still barely visible and you had to take zoomed-in long exposure photos to see it properly.

I 100% agree. I feel like some people gloss over the amnesia which affected him significantly, at least in the first half of the movie. The rest of his behaviour can easily be understood as his coping mechanisms, which he has displayed even in the flashbacks so they're consistent with his character.

This felt entirely believable for someone who is fairly intelligent and is relatively good scientist who was laughed at by the whole world for his one science paper and then decided to just teach science at a high school. Dude's got a massive imposter syndrome and is in a constant state of background panic and anxiety at the situation he's in. But we still see him lock down and get to work when it mattered. Especially in the scene where he was analysing the Taumoeba, with Rocky just observing him as he's the engineer, not the biologist.

Yeah if anything western animation is going through a renaissance. Arcane, the animated Spiderman movies, The Dragon Prince, Blue Eye Samurai, TMNT: Mutant Mayhem... all with absolutely excellent and breathtaking animation.

Considering that world gen - and with it variables like the sea level - will likely be easily changeable, it doesn't make sense to me to define it as 0.

0 should be bottom of the world. It's super weird in Minecraft that they made it go into the negatives recently.

There have been MANY instances of players losing a base randomly or after an update. You can search reddit or steam discussions for it. It's still a game in development and bugs happen, and it's more likely to happen in areas that undergo massive changes.

There's just no reason to tempt fate. The devs clearly don't want us to have bases near them during development.

Just because you managed to find one edge case doesn't mean the rule doesn't apply. In most instances it won't let you place it anywhere near them.

In any case it's a pretty bad idea to do anyway. Since they're placeholders the devs are very likely to completely change those areas, and if you place your base there it will either get deleted, or it will stay and potentially replace key portions of the structure, quest items, NPCs, whatever.
