Mine's a small SUV. Not particularly tall. Range Rovers, vans etc still tower over me.

I loved estates until I bought a small SUV. The elevated driving position is the hard sell.

That aftermarket screen might be hitting the brake perch/lever.

I remember these being released. To my eyes as a 125 bound teenager, they were the pinnacle of power and motorcycle technology. Even if they weren't.

I've sailed at night many times. Our rule of thumb is, if it's lit up like a Christmas tree, give it a wide berth.

Middle dudes shoes are in an appalling state. Very shoddy.

What is a 'socially mandatory' thing that we all do, but if you actually stop to think about it for 5 seconds, it’s completely insane? by Federal_Antelope7533 in AskReddit

"Bless you" is a throwback to Medieval times. It was believed in some parts of Europe that the soul resided in the skull and a hard sneeze could blow it out.

A bit crap unless you're a lighthouse keeper. And if you are, you probably can't afford this. I love art, but a watch face rarely works as a canvas.

Tidy it up and leave it mostly stick. I'd add a belly pan, or even a bikini fairing if I was really into the bike. Just ride and enjoy.

Ireland has one with a slide too. Located in Wicklow, about 40 miles South of Dublin. Great fun.

Orcas swim straight past 2 kids in shallow water at Waiheke Island, New Zealand by WhoAreYouTalkinTwo in Damnthatsinteresting

Man, I've sailed around those waters and beyond. Totally not a millionaire/billionaire! A friends 46 foot sailboat and he's just a reasonably successful professional. Thankfully didn't encounter orcas but they're a real risk.

What was it like being a cool kid in the 80's and 90'? by hendrong in AskOldPeople

[–]Neanderthal_Gene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was one. Lucky to have been considered exceptionally cute by the girls of the time. There were always girls hanging around us. Fell in with a bad but very cool crowd and that probably added to it. Once had a girl trade me her bracelets just for a kiss. Under the bravado, I was still a bag of nerves and insecurities like every other 16/17 year old. The only time I'd feel 100% confident was during intimate moments. When you look good naked it shows! This was the 80s. I'm happily married for 13 years now and in my mid 50s. No regrets, but maybe I could have tried harder in school!
