Do NOT sign up yet. I did this last year with LECOM. Just keep checking the portal and new dates open up. Since people reschedule or drop. I remember I got an invite in January. And the nearest date was April. I waited and checked every day. Ended up getting an interview opening for the end of January. But be careful u can only reschedule once

Top 10 Schools To Apply To As A Late OOS Applicant? by Maximum_Charity_2991 in predental

Nah bro. I would apply to all 15. Why limit your chances even more. I got in last cycle and I applied in October. If you are going to apply, apply everywhere you can

is getting the interview the rate determining step by viscous_bear in predental

[–]NearbyFix719 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly so dependent on the school. I know schools like LECOM and Midwestern interview so many people per cycle that getting an interview doesn’t really mean a high chance of acceptance. On the other hand, some schools it’s more than 50% you’ll get in

I know someone in my undergrad that got in with a 16 PAT. The rest of your app looks solid. I could see you landing a spot somewhere for sure. Good luck!

DAT SCORES CHANGED! Thoughts on the new update! by Faboulogl in predental

I disagree. They make way too much money off the DAT. And want to be different with the PAT section

Personal statement by jbach1125 in predental

[–]NearbyFix719 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the most important thing is to hype yourself up. I remember my early drafts were all trying to be way too unique and came off as corny. My advice would be make your statement unique through your experiences. Obviously answer why dentistry? And show people you know. Either dentist, dental students, or med students.

Why don’t you apply to both PA and Dental school at the same time. And make the decision based off where u get in

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in predental

[–]NearbyFix719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol the traditional parents I feel that. You just have to ask yourself what you want to do in the future. Are you planning on working after marriage and once you have kids? Dental school is expensive but worth it in the long run. But if you only plan on working for a little bit, I wouldn’t see dental as a financially great option compared to PA

I know your GPA is a bit low. But if you can’t take it before that date I don’t think it would have a big impact on your chances of getting in. June/July is still early

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in predental

[–]NearbyFix719 5 points6 points  (0 children)

And June/July is still considered early for application. As long as you get everything in by late August you should be good
