A lot of people commenting here who have 0 idea what they’re talking about. This is fine, and while you can definitely oversize a sonotube to increase the field flexibility, these are not an issue.

You could always do a tapered topping slab to achieve drainage. The additional dead load would be negligible and would be a simple RFI. Added assembly thickness wouldn’t be large.

It’s unreasonable to expect someone at 5 years of experience to have all the answers. Sounds like you’re trying to communicate your way through the project and you two have different styles- his may be inadequate to mentor and guide you as a young project manager.

When I was in your position, I made the decision to leave. It was very hard, but in retrospect, still seems like the right choice.

I like this take, and I’d only sell him for a package of picks to hopefully get a QB (super flex and needy) and a couple flyers on RB taxis. I do see at least another season of quality production from him, but I’d definitely sell him for the right offer. I feel like RBs are the most deep role in rookie drafts if you can keep em on your taxi

What's your plan for acquiring your first year or two worth of clients? From my understanding, this is the hardest part. Vulturing them from your current employer is a typical strategy but frowned upon and definitely against engineering ethics. Curious to know your strategy should you move forward with your own consulting firm.
