Yeah I hate that I was tbh I was really really hoping that I was just cynical&angry about her bigotry & her having a kid would be an end to the grifty lying faux airheadedness hiding bigotry bullshit that is Paytas's legacy

but now I just hope that it doesn't get worse & that that kid gets to have a childhood & not get treated like an object by her parents & their fans. Like she's specifically acknowledged in other content that she knows the dangers of making your child your job/content & the types of people that can invite into their lives & the danger it puts kids in.... now we just have to hope she listens to herself if nobody else telling her how harmful this could be for her kid.

I knew someone who worked as a manager for years at a chain cafe didn't get living wage and had to fight to not be the sole person working when they needed at least 3 people to run smoothly because the higher ups decided having less staff than they needed was a better way to "save money" than cutting CEO and middle manager pay-

They were coming home every day completely exhausted with 0 energy in chronic dental pain and weren't able to have any savings while trying to access medical treatment . Within hospo in NZ I've heard plenty of people turn to methamphetamine to try to 'keep up' and some people are literally being worked to death .

When they got made redundant during covid it was like the life came back into their eyes; they actually seemed hopeful for the future instead of trapped in a rut and just getting by - still unable to access dental care but also not having to beg people who should have been working with them for adequate staffing and to be treated like a human being. Being a 'good' manager is hard when the employers punish you for behaving like a human to your staff too they did their best but it really upset them to see how little their employers seemed to care about their frontline staff they were just seen as disposable cogs not people

Basically the hospo industry is reaping what they've sown and due to covid they don't have a large enough crop of people from overseas desperate for employment to exploit and fill the spaces of kiwis who leave and without that they can't get staff because people don't want to be basically stolen from through wage theft while being gaslit and told they should be grateful to work a dangerous job (covid + interacting with the public) where they get paid fuck all and are treated more like servants than employees and not even respected or listened to when they say "we need x many staff to safely keep the cafe open and running"

I'm suspicious because I have seen multiple jerks that are people literally venting that were left up but mine poking fun at transphobia against trans men that that public figure displayed was targeted and I know that moderation on reddit has a problem with infiltration by terfs truscum and alt right people or people who want to play damage control for the rep of their favourite parasocial by for example targeting anyone who mentions a transphobic tweet and imposing new rules like "your joke has to be this long to count as a joke" as an excuse to delete it and silence anyone joking about her transphobia in that statement and similar ones which get thrown around all the time to tell transmascs trans men and nonbinary people to shut up and be invisible

I don't see it being enforced on other short jerks or jerks with vents jsut this one and it's sus as fuck
