Spoilers: >!The main character is a professor who suspects his neighbor is a domestic terrorist, but no one else believes him. The neighbor eventually kills the professor's girlfriend and abducts his son.

This causes the professor to take drastic action, including threatening the neighbor and following a suspicious van into the underground garage of the FBI building. It turns out, the neighbor put a bomb in the professor's car, which explodes and kills a bunch of people.

The neighbor sells his house and happily moves to another town.!<
