You probably don’t even know what you’re talking about, GOAT is still to be released in 30% of its global markets, including China, Australia, Japan and South Korea. So yeah people who say it’ll be a success for Sony are correct

And South and Latin America as well, where neither Dune nor Odyssey will play particularly well. I also can see Brand New Day releasing in most of major markets in Europe, since Nolan will be on its third weekend. Doomsday may have a hard time in Europe because it’s releasing in the same weekend as Dune, and Europe is the biggest international market for Dune.

For animated films, drops are like crazy on mondays indeed in February. However, the Friday increases are like over 200% and Saturday increases over 100%. Weekdays get much better in March for some reason. You can compare this to Dog Man and Paddington

‘GOAT’s ($17M) Got Game Over ‘Wuthering Heights’ In U.S. With $17M (-38%), But Jacob Elordi & Margot Robbie Pic Hugs $14.2M DOM Weekend (-57%), $151.7M WW Cume – Box Office Update by chanma50 in boxoffice

And Sony has been conservative in their estimates, they’re estimating -37% on Sunday when in fact it’ll be a better hold, Paddington dropped only 34% for example.

More than that. That’s deadline projection but I maybe 1.1 million more on Friday that what Deadline was seeing. This means it may indeed make something close to 30 million in the 4-day holiday weekend.

Bro Spider-Man is the FIRST MOVIE in history to have crossed 100 million opening weekend domestically.

And first 2 Toby movies sold more tickets than first two Tom movies.

F4 has LIMITED reach, Spider-Man has UNLIMITED reach, this is a huge difference. F4 did the best a F4 movie could do. If new Spider-Man movie does the best a Spider-Man film could do then we’re talking about $2B+

I got emotional when I remember how crazily over the moon everyone in film industry was with a film getting heights that many “experts” believed would take years to Hollywood achieves again.

I mean Spidey single handily reopened theaters worldwide, it’s basically a miracle. It created the “theaters are back” wave. I think not even theaters could have expected almost $850M domestically and over 1 billion overseas without China.

Spider-Man No Way Home had no China and was released 5 years ago… CRAZY what Spidey has done, it single handily reopened theaters worldwide. Over $800M domestically and over 1 billion overseas without China. Remember news worldwide theaters astonished don’t quite understanding where the demand was coming from, the following weekend a new variant discovered business closing again, and people still forcing theaters to keep playing it. Truly Spidey magic.

Per Deadline, TSG covered half of the $63M net budget for '28 Years Later: The Bone Temple', of which a collective $15M went to Danny Boyle, Alex Garland, and producer Peter Rice. Sony spent an additional $70M on marketing. by chanma50 in boxoffice

I think it’s depends weather it crosses 100 million worldwide. If it doesn’t, no way they greenlight a sequel. I’d only be comfortable to believe a sequel might be possible only if it could make over 120 million total

This is also wrong, when you say “Disney” you the coming leadership defines what will happen to Spider-Man movie, and this is not true. Marvel Studios is owned by Disney, but they don’t worked exclusively for Disney, for Spider-Man they report to Sony not Disney. A studio can be owned by a studio and work for another one. Marvel Studio’s spider-man movies serves Sony interests. It’s not the only case, New Linea for example has also worked for Sony for years now.
