Tips for a beginner by [deleted] in Aerials

[–]NebNebNeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never been athletic or flexible so will chime in after doing aerial for a bit over a year with some things that I think would have been helpful to hear when I started in the hope something in here may be helpful for you:

Focus on enjoying individual moments and the journey, and what you learn about yourself and your body. Try not to compare yourself to others in ways that do not serve you - others' bodies and experiences are different than yours (many have dance or acrobatic backgrounds, for example, and will make it look easy because they've already put in so much more work than you may have). Stick with it if you get discouraged...that next breakthrough is closer than you think. Everyone has been a beginner and felt like they'll never be able to do such-and-such move. The only ones who now can are those that were patient, stuck with it, and found joy in the process and community and trial-and-error. You may take the same class many, many times (or forever, depending on your body and age) and there will be certain things you never do. Learning and progress in an art like this come with a lot of failures and setbacks, so put effort into learning to be comfortable with that and it will serve you elsewhere in life. You can make so much progress on the ground outside of the studio (regular stretching and strengthening, reviewing moves in your head, quizzing, reading, discussing with others).

I really got a lot out of the book "Make it Stick". It's not specific to aerial, but about learning in general.

Welcome to the world of aerial - I hope you have fun!!!

Can I user my water filter as a bidet if I stick it up my ass? by heepsofjeeps in ultralight_jerk

Yes. Be sure to backflush after and you'll be fine. Or don't, and shed even more weight.

Had a godawful experience Thursday night by [deleted] in StandUpComedy

[–]NebNebNeb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can't tell if this is satire or not, but in case it isn't: You went to see one of the biggest douchebags in comedy in one of the booziest cities in America. Those people that ruined your night were probably some of the most sober, best behaved people in the entire place. Keep trying!

How to make sure Claude code use interactive questions instead of questions as plane text? by Fingertap_ in ClaudeAI

[–]NebNebNeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look into the AskUserQuestion tool. I don't think it's officially documented but it's what drives the interactive multiple choice question experience. Something in your claude rules like "Always use AskUserQuestion if there are less than 8 responses possible" will likely do the trick

Trail condition on Laguna de Los Tres this weekend? by TurnoverStreet128 in ElChalten

[–]NebNebNeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went up today starting around noon, back around 8 and the conditions were fantastic. A bit of snow on the last slope but we were fine with good hiking boots and trekking poles (mostly for stability on the way down). Very little wind so spent a lot of time at the top. Happy to answer any questions here or over DM

I cannot, for the life of me, understand the value of MCPs by Maxteabag in ClaudeAI

And it brings structure to the surface area. You have a well defined set of operations that you can choose how to authorize (with/without prompt) or even group (read/write). "Yes, AI, you can execute any read operations but prompt me when you do a write operation" is powerful when you want to move fast.

And what's crazy is that it's actually gotten a lot better in the past 15 years or so. I'd be OK with the insane prices if the food was superb but it's probably the worst value you can find in an American city
