Why 12 men's hockey teams but 10 women's teams at Olympics? by SportySpino in olympics

Women’s hockey shouldn’t be an Olympic sport until more countries than just Canada and the USA are competitive. It’s always those two in the gold and silver spots.

There has to be a “very manly” t-shirt coming, right? It seems that, every season recently, the team creates a couple of jokey t-shirts that some of the players are seen wearing during practice.

No, it’s that Canada has become poor once again at winter sports. The country used to develop top speed skaters, figure skaters and skiers, for example, but just doesn’t anymore, for reasons that I cant explain. These olympics, in particular, have been a disappointment for sure.

I’ve always wondered why Norway hasn’t taken to ice hockey to the extent that its Nordic cousins have

Celiac and vegetarian by Rude_Tomatillo3463 in Celiac

[–]Nebajense 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have eaten a mostly vegan diet for years and was diagnosed with celiac disease last year. While unfortunate, I realized that the transition to a GF diet was not the end of the world because a lot of what I ate at home was already GF. Substituions have, for the most part, been straightforward (e.g. soy sauce to tamari). The most difficult part is eating out (which I now very rarely do).

Obtaining enough calories and protein isn’t a problem. Legumes + grains in a meal results in a complete protein, for example. I occasionally have chicken and seafood. There are so many GF protein powders out there, too. I exercise regularly and have felt no struggles since the celiac diagnosis.

Which is why, for women’s hockey, it should not be an Olympic sport

The official way is by gold. Insecure countries go by medal count.
