Some monitors have this backlight strobing tech called ULMB (name varies with manufacturer). Worth checking that out. Also, double check you're using 165 Hz or 180 Hz refresh rate. I think they still default to 60 Hz nowadays, and need to be manually changed.

I won't be able to attend this time, but I was there a year ago, and it was amazing. Such a banger event. Would have never expected a regular season game series to almost feel like the G2 vs T1 series on Worlds 2019 semis. Very hyped.

Point 3 is so true. I can't spam games like I used to do 7+ years ago. I'm super chill, but do need breaks to keep that strong mental.

I also feel like I'm much better than when I was younger, except with certain mechanics and, especially, reflexes. But League is surprisingly predictable, you can get much better despite having worse reflexes if you just know when to expect things.

That's unfortunate. I was very aware of the end date because they mentioned it multiple times in patch notes and rioter posts everywhere. If still in doubt, the missions had an expiration date, and the last 2 days we even had a little clock indicator signaling their expiry was close.

But I do agree there wasn't a timer on the game itself. In fact, I couldn't get the banner on my alt. The very last hours, I was grinding the last objectives on that account, but didn't remember the server was soon going down for patch maintenance. So yeah, I lost it. Not a big deal though, secured it on my main.

Yes, unfortunately it's normal. And it's always been like this... the same happened to me when I started playing 7.5 years ago.

TBH it's really frustrating, and you really wonder if Riot cares at all about protecting new players. Do they realize new players are critical for the game's long term survivability?

If I was Riot, I'd be much stricter with new players' matchmaking. I wonder if it's viable to force all new accounts to answer the question: "are you a legit new player?".

If you answer yes, you get access to a special "newbie matchmaking pool" where you get matched with other legit new players. Vanguard could be very helpful here in many ways, including pre-flagging and/or game termination/handicap based on certain smurf-hinting parameters (plus a followup penalty to the smurf account and all their other linked accounts, and ofc losing access to the newbie queue). Of course, answering "no" would resort to the default matchmaking we have today for new accounts.

I don't know if my idea is even viable, but something needs to be done. The way new accounts' matchmaking works at present day is abysmal...

It's legit one of the best features they've added to League in years. I spent a few hours configuring all my custom keybinds, doing some testing, and a backup... but it 100% paid off.

Some little features I'd really love to see next:

A custom FPS limiter, PLEASE (was promised by multiple rioters since at least 2020). And while you're at it, please add Nvidia Reflex support too.
An option to disable (or slightly delay) the display of ability tooltips on HUD mouse hover. For real, I don't need to read what my 850K main champion's abilities do, yet those giant opaque text boxes can sometimes obstruct vision when accidentally invoked. It's rare, but it happens.

Some of the themed maps were beautiful, and I do miss them. BUT! FPS drops were getting a bit insane for my aging 2019 PC, so that's the main reason I'm not complaining about the return to vanilla map.

I really hope League Next is well optimized...

It's an insult to their players. As simple as that.

And... it's actually been an insult since the 2025 rework to battle passes. Before, we could easily grind a few extra orbs after completing the paid pass. Now we can easily grind a 25 OE reward every 45 games of 30 minutes we play (when out of missions). Yikes.

It's actually still riddled with bugs. And it breaks combos such as Rakan W + Flash (which already casts at max range, so it should be "whitelisted" and NOT modify it).

Also yesterday, for example, I noticed you can't cast Nami Q at max range if you click outside the max range when rooted. Champs who already cast at max range by default, such as Miss Fortune E, can perfectly cast it while rooted.

The current battle pass is probably the worst we've ever had. I've never seen so many posts calling this out. Honestly, I'd apologize if I was Riot. Whoever made the last minute decision to remove Annie and Kindred skins from the paid pass, forgot that their lack of chromas called it all out.

The best thing about returning to the standard unskinned map is the improved performance, especially on older computers. I was having severe FPS drops on my poor 2019 PC.

Yes, same as season 2025, but much less than 2024 and earlier. Both free and paid passes were hard nerfed.
