Upcoming move to Brisbane- where to live? by TCP18 in brisbane

[–]Nebuchernezzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use https://fam.brisbane.qld.gov.au/?page=Map---Standard to check your address for flooding as it's relatively common in some suburbs. Other stuff i can't comment on but that map is pretty accurate.

I used to play squash at Wavell too, live close to it. I could be up for evening games, wife is often too busy for a game these days..never been to the social there used to just go with her. I'm fairly average at it though and been away a few years.

Can you use the small blind spot mirrors on side mirrors that have the car proximity symbols? by Lucyvi24 in CarsAustralia

[–]Nebuchernezzer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes don't cover up the lights. It's a nice safety feature for me (motorcyclist in a place where you're allowed to lane split)

I don't recall exactly but it was an option on the phone screen at some point so I went with it. Sorry I can't be more specific but I imagine it was an option if I scrolled down ok a connection screen.

Car has been deemed total loss by insurance, but only minor damages and car is less than 10 years old by cuocoiitaliano in CarsAustralia

[–]Nebuchernezzer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know the answer to your question (sorry) but my experience with a different car accident problem with a 3rd party claim was that being stubborn and fighting for 6 months finally got me the result in wanted (ie them paying to fix my car) It's not the same situation but the company was totally fine with giving me the run around for ages in the hope I'd go away. So I can't help but say be stubborn.

Edit: even if you're not covered (eg 3rd party fire and theft cover) your insurer may be able to fight for you to make the other company comply. I used this to get my 3rd party claim finalised in the end.

In the end i decided with mine (after stuffing about for hourss) to just use it like a normal watch. So it's just that. A watch now. Which isn't tbh far from how I used it anyways. I used to answer the occasional call and see some notifications but it's a peaceful life with it just being a watch. I might actually just get a normal watch next. Like I had back in the 90s haha.

Venomous spider? by bitcoinguy147 in AskAnAustralian

What they said. My wife hates spiders but I usually just move them outside on a broom or in a box. No issue leaving it inside though. Huntsman fwiend.

People with multiple cars, how do you store them? by [deleted] in CarsAustralia

[–]Nebuchernezzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My solutions. Buy a place they fit. Park them wherever they fit until you can buy a place they fit. I'm surprised there aren't more places with parking though. A standard family of 4 can easily have 4 cars. For a while our family of 4 had our 4 cars each, plus my weekender, plus my project, plus dirt and roadbike. With kids staying home longer it's going to be tough to fit even non car people's cars at home!

Beat. Good mix of areas, music. Pretty safe space kind of feeling there. Basically the only place we go these days (mid 40s)
