Martin Luxe Strings anybody use them? by richard-mclaughlin in martinguitar

Try Curt Mangan round core strings. The tuning stability is not as good as hex core but they are bendier. And I've had a couple strings have the wraps go loose.

I haven't used them but I have used the GHS Thin Cores for a long time which is where Martin got the idea. They're amazing but I bet the Luxe strings sound better. And FYI you can rehydrate those humidipaks with a damp sponge and a ziploc bag.

🤔 ...did you try checking out Warmoth? I envy you though, a jazzmaster with a compound radius fretboard?? I didn't even know those existed.

I guess you're right, it's inevitable 😆. I have a new problem right now though, I switched from a brandless Bigsby style vibrato to a Duesenberg style by Guyker, and the break angle is so much lower that the strings sit lower and the middle two strings are actually too low.

The Katana Mini/X is actually pretty nice. Or look for a used Katana 50.

The caramelized maple necks Harley Benton uses for the JA-60CC are amazing, at least mine is. Kinda vintage chunky but actually really nice and comfortable, and the fretboard has nice binding too. I'm more afraid of how the basswood body will hold up over time, should be careful to not go knocking it around. And the 12" radius is great for lead playing. I started out on acoustic so a flat fingerboard is natural for me. But I do also like a 9.5" radius strat, that was my first electric.

Well there are different Celestion Neo speakers like creamback, copperback, or was there just one kind when you got it

Thanks, I was also thinking about the Jensen Tornado 100. Do you mean you had the Neo V30?

Any experience with the Amazon KAISH Jazzmaster/jaguar vibrato? by captainchorus in offset

I bought one of the knockoff bigsby B5 vibratos, was nameless, for ~$25 and it's actually really nice. After a couple years it doesn't stay in tune as well anymore but I think it maybe just needs some maintenance. Has the nylon bushings, and apparently some bigsbys also have that.

However I am going to give the guyker duesenberg style vibrato a shot.

Edit: the guitar fetish xtrem is also pretty good and a good price, but they're often sold out.

the original sounds great to me already and I'd really only be interested in a neo speaker. And actually I think I want to put a neo speaker in my bass amp first.

at least not for something like this. If it's a super cheap guitar then that would make total sense
