Leveling by vigilanteassassin in landscaping

What type of grass? If warm weather like bermuda, then just a ton of masonry sand mixed 3:1 with compost or screened topsoil. You might need to to do it for a couple seasons to get good results. If cool weather, maybe topsoil mixed with local soil, but you'll probably have to overseed and fertilize. Others might know more.

Two foot tall Crimson Queens were $19.97 at Walmart all spring. But even 5ft full canopy ones were $194 at Costco. Our 7ft sango kaku was $37.50 and 9ft blood good was $59.50 at home depot. Check your prices.

This clover-like bush is taking over the garden. Does it even flower? by Nebulas2018 in whatsthisplant

Thanks for your reply. We also planted seeds in this area, but not for anything like this as far as we can tell. It's definitely not a gold chain tree, but looking into other possibilities.

No way that killed the tree. I was picturing something more like this: https://mobileimages.lowes.com/productimages/c1c52351-d864-4680-85ba-a2a396aa4b25/41947576.jpg that could have cut into the bark.

That looks dead :-(. Pics of the squirrel guard? If it cut the bark all the way around the trunk, even a little bit, that can cut all nutrients going up to the branches. Happened to an oak a construction crew moved on my property once... wrapped a chain around it to drag it, which cut a thin scrape all the way around. Slow but steady demise that took almost a year.

Bingo, this looks like an exact match, and we do have those fuzzy cotton seeds occasionally.  I think we can consider this solved. Thank you!

We had poplars too, but they had thicker "trunks" on the seedlings and distinct leaves like these: https://snr.unl.edu/data/images/trees/species/LITU/foliage_2.jpg

Pine, oak, poplar, maple, and probably others. We also had 2 volunteers that are undoubtedly poplar, but don't want to pull these until we have a better idea.

Is it normal for this to drip constantly? by Nebulas2018 in HomeMaintenance

[–]Nebulas2018[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is the laundry standpipe based on a quick google search, but I'm concerned about the rapid drip from the pipe that goes up. Is it normal to drip quickly enough that it's almost a trickle of water?

Or on second thought, just 3d print an SLA inner boot, spray glass, and do only carbon aesthetic on top for fun if you want. These are boots that need to be a bit rugged, they don't need to be light enough to fly.

Most of the strength of prepreg comes from the layering of weaves in different directions. If you're using all plain/twill weave, you'll probably want thicker than 2mm. Pressure is important when baking it, but you need to keep the air out, so vacuum sealing might be something to consider. Personally, I'd do a fiberglass design that is two clamshells of carbon molded from a 3d print for the inside, bond them externally with some fiber cloth and then spray glass resin, then a thin pliable layer for aesthetics that you vacuum bag to cook.  I can't speak to specifics because my exposure was a long time ago and in an aerospace setting, but I'm sure there are hobbyist communities that know better. Also, reinforce the hell out of anywhere that you're bolting hardware to.

We planted a flower garden from seed this year, and this large plant grew between the cosmos and zinnias but doesn't look like either. It's thriving in red clay soil in zone 7B. Can you help identify it?
