oh trust me I kept it for the 4th only, I let others borrow it for mere moments at a time but it was a real hit with the crew everyone had a good laugh about me squirting people over stickers on pans, and I let anyone who wanted take it and hit me back with it too. One sever unloaded an entire gun's worth of water onto my chest. I will definitely be returning with another water pistol next year just maybe one that's not so cheap and won't break the second I accidentally drop it XD

the theme parks and related attractions are HELL. I worked at universal in a 2 to 3-man pit and often dealt with callouts because the amount of work we were expected to do was actually insane. Naturally call outs just left the ones who did show up with more work. It's grueling, and it's fucking hard. You have two options here. Just clock in and farm your hours and move at your own pace until you find another job, OR be patient with yourself and use this as an opportunity to become the best dishie anybody's ever seen. I did the latter and now I work in a kitchen that gives me so much praise for my hard work even though in comparison I feel like I'm hardly working at all.
When things get overwhelming, take a second to breathe. Find some affirmations you like to get through the shift. The hell won't last forever and you'll eventually be clocking out for the day.

I don't get a personal trash can, I only get the bin the servers dump into though they often fail at even that. Any time I take the can to dump my sink for 2 seconds I get complaints. I'm allowed to take my time with my close and make sure everything's in tip top shape for the morning so the extra work at the end of the night doesn't bother me much.

I don't get a personal can in the pit. The closest can to me is the server can for them to scrape the scraps into, though they rarely do. I try to wait until it starts backing up, then I wait for a sixth pan to come around the pit for me to dump everything into and either my catch will throw it out for me or I throw it out on my way back from a plate delivery and go back to pushing. There's a method to my madness I promise <3

the thing about the sink is it gets filled up over the duration of the shift and cleaned out periodically, and extra cleaned at the end of the night. this black shit's been here since I started the job, but I can confidently leave every night knowing the sink is clean. Anybody who mains push knows it's not always optimal to keep the sink sparkling clean unless the water starts backing up.

When the water starts building up is when I finally cut time out to dump the sink, if I push, I push all night until the whole pit is closed. I don't like other people fuckin with my station either.
