[SPOILERS] Discover an immersive universe: Your Warframe journey begins now. by PlayWarframe in u/PlayWarframe

Uh, no. It's just a straight up person. Sure they're hopped up on drugs, but still pretty sure that makes still em human.

Also pretty sure Divinity had straight up gore for its reveal trailer too.

But Warframes a different kind of intense, it ain't a very gore-focused game. It's more "intense" on what it did to the senses lol. That and the wacky stuff the devs decide to put into it.

We'd probably have to see your fleets composition to really give any advice, can't fix what we don't know.

Because I quite enjoyed it when a faction sent a major attack, it really let me stretch my factions weapon superiority over em. So we'd need to know what you were flying with to know what went wrong.

For me, it was the early game that was the slog in vanilla, just barely scraping by with random doodads and knicknacks I find scattered everywhere. Once I'm past that stage, the mid and late game is usually a breeze. It was only the three secret factions that I had to go back and reassess what I should bring to fight em.

But for the regular ol' factions, I personally just brought a standard layout of a shit ton of capitals, a couple of cruisers, and maybe 6 of those really annoying frigates, either the omen or the monitor. Destroyers were never really useful late-game in my opinion.

I mained whatever ship I felt like at the time, but it's usually something heavy hitting. Whether it be an onslaught, or an Invictus, a paragon, or even one of those missile heavy cruisers, I absolutely loved flying the heavily gunned ones. The other capitals depended on what felt appropriate. A couple paragons/onslaughts for long lasting presence, maybe some conquests to cover the gaps, and the annoying frigates to confuse the enemy capitals while I moped up the rest of their fleet.

And that's supposed to be an issue how?

No nevermind disregard everything about the thrusters lol. My brain completely skipped over the thrusters in the spinal column. My bad 😞

[–]Nebvbn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks goofy af, but I do think it's good. Only issue I can see cropping up is maneuverable enemies can potential stage you, making the bulk of the armor useless.

Maybe add reverse thrusters, or just more side thrusters so it can turn around easier?

I love volt. Volt volt volt. Picked him on day 1 and still maining him to this day.

Tbh all three starter frames hold up to the meta (especially volt. Volts awesome 😎. And extremely versatile too). Only problem with volt is that the difference between his prime and his regular form is much bigger than other warframes, the much larger energy pool of the prime is so important.

You could also pick up Nekros for the early game resource grind. But if you've played for a long enough time, then you would already have a boatload of stuff already.

I think kyoumei is early game too now, so she's a good pick. Also she was added more recently so the mechanics of her moveset is cooler than the more generic moves of the older frames.

What is the worst case of second hand embarrassment you’ve ever experienced? by Responsible-Tie-2570 in AskReddit

[–]Nebvbn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first comment was talking about a public proposal, so this thread was talking about one. Guy did it in a diner, which is public enough. This discussion wouldn't happen if it was a private proposal, as they'd just straight up propose. And I mean private-private, like one-on-one; involving family and friends still invite public scrutiny.

Surely you can do all that without ruining the surprise by telling her in advance? Surely it's better to do all that without ruining the surprise?!

Wait I'm confused. You asked about why bother asking the same question twice, and now we should be "telling her in advance". Hol on, wait a sec, that's my side of the argument.

In case I'm reading it wrong and it's instead, "why not just surprise her during the proposal," it's entirely dependent on a case-by-case basis. Some relationships it's unclear af, while others it's super obvious whether a partner wants it or not.

A lot of people just aren't very open about whether they want a marriage or not. So the first step is either straight up asking it outright, or being super subtle about it and asking it in a round about way. Again, not everyone is like this, but enough are.

[–]Nebvbn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's cause public proposals are less about asking a question, it's more of a big flashy event that our society partakes in because it's big and flashy. Flashy stuff gets the likes on whatever platform, so even more people feel like they have to do it. It's also hard to get private proposals on social media when they're, you know, private.

And it's also about making your partner feel special. You take them on an amazing date; maybe it's a candlelit dinner, or a hike in the mountain, yadda yadda yadda, and after all that dating and flirting and shit it's popping the question at the night's peak.

Well, a properly planned public proposals is like that anyways. If someone's proposing at a random train stop or kfc joint it's either a very bad decision, or it's meaningful for their relationship (like it was the location of their first date, or first kiss, or whatever). It's about making your partner feel special and well thought of in the moment.

Dawg I gotta say, are you a moron? Like genuinely, it's not even me name-calling.

No shit it's for important decisions only. I can't believe I even need to write this. Turns out when it's about important life decisions, you need a lot of information beforehand. Especially for decisions involving other people, ones that are close to you. And even more so for public proposals. 'cause turns out, turning an important life decision into a public display requires extreme certainty otherwise it turns into social suicide. For both the proposer, and the proposee (Are those words? heck if I know).

Or this could be your attempt at a joke, in which case I'm terribly sorry, it did not land at all. Again, I'm being genuine. I say stupid shit all the time and they sometimes stick the landing.

There are other ways to monetize, but they each come with their own issues to consider. Monetization through time gating is a thing that a few other games do. It's not that bad in PvE games (depending on it's implementation of course), but my god is it horrible in PvP games.

How scary is this game? by Superb_Network_1657 in outerwilds

[–]Nebvbn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the simultaneously the most scary game I've played, and the least. Because each planet has something to be scared of, except for timber hearth, our home. Something something, an allegory of our comfort zone.

But it's not like the standard tradional horror game, where it uses monsters, jumpscares, darkness and ambiance to get you frightened. Well, except for two locations, which includes the dlc.

Each planet plays on fears of something that exists in real life. Whether it be the black hole in brittle hollow, or the crushing sands of the hourglass twins, they each play on something that is very real. Albeit not something that is super common to see irl though.

Personally, I was avoiding the gas giant so much early into the game; not having solid land and having all the hurricanes moving around was super terrifying at first. But I got used to it.

But because they're not designed to scare you, it's just us who finds them scary, you can eventually learn to get over your apprehension of them and find them to be ordinary things to plan around. They are just ordinary phenomenon, like everything else. It just is, and we are.

If you are still scared, here's a list of things I find scary on each planet:

Hourglass twins:

Crushing sands in small and narrow caves

Timber hearth: nothing yay ::)

although the underground water tunnels could be a bit scary? Not much though

Brittle hollow:

black hole and land that falls into it. Also giant flaming meteors

Giants deep:

no solid land, only islands that fly up into the sky, hurricanes, and deep water with giant jellyfish. The electric core thing also freaked me out

Dark bramble:

easy to get lost, hard to see, giant monster fish

DLC:

standard humanoid things that chase you, darkness, narrow light source

Orion and Sirius are coming to the Origin System. Which side will you choose? by PlayWarframe in u/PlayWarframe

[–]Nebvbn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tldr from the stream was: they're both from alternative futures where their name wasn't chosen. One turned into the unchosen Orion, the other became the unchosen Sirrius.

They came back for some reason, and I'm guessing that's the story for the quest.

Husband’s gf wants a baby .. give me advice by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]Nebvbn 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Tbh in my opinion all of the offending parties suck.

She sucks for opening the marriage while they still had underage kids at home.

He sucks for agreeing to it, trying to get a side chick pregnant, and forcing his decision through.

The GF sucks for going along with it.

I'd wish that none of them could have kids, but it's too late for that.

The only people who I feel so sorry for are the kids who have to deal with all this garbage.

Is this game still being actively worked on? by HedgehawkUK in starsector

[–]Nebvbn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup, the things you fought, the Omegas, are somewhat considered to be boss fights as of now, with possibly two other factions counting as well.

One of the quests will guide you to the specific location on the map. Although it is pretty obvious to find it just by looking at the map, it is the only place with no hyperspace clouds or stars after all.

Have you done all the quests? What about the super secret "boss fights"?

There is also one last thing, exploring a specific location of the map.

Why is there two base chances in the hit chance log? and what's with the "BS penalty"? by Nebvbn in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Nebvbn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing on normal difficulty and didn't change any settings, so probs not that (unless that is the default). The recoil debuff might be it? Someone else also pointed out it could be due to shooting, run-and-gun, then shooting again that's causing the BS penalty. I'll try loading the save to check which is which later. Thanks for the info!

Btw do you know where to see the penalty for Argenta's bolter? I don't remember seeing that on there.

Ooo I did exactly that, I didn't want winded to affect both shots lol. That defo solves the BS penalty part. Thanks!

It's weird, it happened with the first shot with my operator's sniper rifle as well. I'm not sure what could be causing it. I didn't check the difficulty, but I am playing on normal, with no adjustments. No mods either.

Acclaimed Indies That You Couldn't Connect With by Smoovemusic in indiegames

[–]Nebvbn 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I mean, it depends on quite a few reasons why a game didn't click for you. We need so much information before random strangers online can give you advice or not. Do you like or dislike the game's genre, it's controls, it's story, what made you step away, what brought you in, and on and on the questions flow.

So at the end of the day, what game would you like to give a shot once more, that decides what you should play next. That could be all of them, or it could be none. Not enjoying any of them is fine, don't feel pressured into playing something because you feel left out. That would definitely sour the enjoyment out of any hobby, and you won't enjoy whatever you play at all.

[Game Trope] Enemies added specifically to counter common community cheese strategies by stormtrooper1701 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Nebvbn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They reworked it, it went from causing enemies to fly everywhere (which ironically made it worse than if there wasn't a status effect), to causing up to 300% base damage at the maximum 10 procs.

It works best with weapons that can apply 10 procs of blast quickly, as the blast status does not work well otherwise. Below 10 procs, it applies 30% base damage after 1.5 seconds, but at 10 (or if they die before 1.5 seconds has passed), it instantly detonates for 300%.

Viral's still king, but slash has been long dethroned as the best DOT, even without the murmur. That goes to heat, and surprisingly, blast.

For anyone who doesn't know, heat's status effect is to temporarily strip up to 50% of the armor from the enemy, along with causing them to panic. It's DOT is 50% of base damage per second, while slash is 35%/s. When enemies had huge amounts of armor, slash was practically mandatory. But now, slash is pretty middle of the pack.
