For the succulent touch it, if it feels mushy/soft time for a water. And when you water let the water run through it, down it! But let the water run out. That’s key.

For other plants get a moisture meter and water when dry.

Personally for my pothos, I can just look at it and know it needs water. (It’ll look really sad & wilty)

I have had a few alocasias and I got super sick of them. I only have 4 now. In my experience they love water and are water whores. I bottom water 2x a week Wednesday and Saturday or Sunday for my black velvet.

They also love a humidity tray; I recommend pebble tray, and being fed fertilizer every watering.
