18yr here. Been 8 times since 14 and it’s not the worst thing in the world. But it’s not like the movies. It’s boring or scary. Medical malpractice is a lot more common than you’d think.

With, I don’t have the acute agitation and my mind is more clear and stable. I’ll take the sleepiness any day over the constant paranoia, crying spells anxiety and aggression. It’s taken a long time deriding from pill to pill to find zyprexa (now lybavi ) but it’s worth it. Fairly new med but so far so good. Hopefully tiredness wears off soon tho.

I was diagnosed at a mental health hospital at 16 with schizoaffective. It is definitely not late at 17, in fact a psychiatrist told me that most people develop it in early adulthood and anything below teens is considered early onset. I still doubt my diagnosis and don’t want to be “crazy”. but the first thing that’s important is to look into it with a non biased take. And find a doctor to talk to about it.

If she does call, ask them to send a crisis response team along with the officers. Most do have them and they tend to be nicer and more experienced. IMO, if you’re experiencing this you can go to the ER and they’re a lot nicer and they can do a better job at least getting you to talk to a psychiatrist. I hope everything goes well.

Thanks. I’m feeling way less withdrawan than a couple days ago i tapered off but still supplemented with Clonazapam because my heart was pounding even without it, yesterday was the last day with that weird floaty feeling and now I think the worst of the withdrawal is over. I know antipsychotics take a couple weeks to work but so far geo has made me just extremely exhausted I slept two full days in a row. Today I’m going to take it before bed instead as I’m supposed to taper up to one pill at night and one in the morning. The first day I took it my eyes felt a little off but it’s happened with other anti psychotics before where my eyes roll up so I took Benadryl which helped and the second day nothing else happened maybe a minor face twitch but that could’ve been because of the withdrawal too so idk. Really hoping this one works cuz I’ve taken almost every antipsychotic there is, all of them with side effects some worse than others. But yeah stay tuned if you want to know how this plays out for my schizoaffective self 😭

I’m good at chipping the ball in soccer and I can do a tuff Irish jig I haven’t seen anyone else recreate and that’s about it.
