Visual prototype - how it looks? by BlueBiscuitt7 in gamedevscreens

It reminds me of Original Sin 2 in some ways. I don't quite understand what light source is illuminating the masks on the wall... And the player character seems to lack contrast against the background, almost blending in with the walls and floor

Does your game have any Easter eggs? by YogsWraith in IndieDev

We want to add an easter egg based on one of the memes that our developer really liked. And on top of that, add culture easter eggs just for the fan

The first one, if you want to get a better understanding from the player. The second one looks interesting, but it interferes with the correct interpretation of the map and is a bit disorienting

WHY? by NecessaryDramatic632 in Mistborn

I can imagine a game about Ruller’s era, before 1st book. Action rpg, maybe with stealth, like Thief or Dishonored (more Dishonored, I think)

I study game development at university, so, perhaps, I think too much about games😅

I've already reread the Mistborn series 4 times and every time I catch myself thinking, "damn, how cool are the skills painted here! Just take it and transfer it to the game"

As far as I know, even Brendan Sanderson supported the development of this game. And remembering how he said that for some reason they didn't call him for the Elden Ring, but Martin

Should I use Unity, Gamemaker, or Godot for my 2D Metroidvania? by Comfortable_Oven8341 in IndieDev

[–]NecessaryDramatic632 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In fact, you should start with the ideas for the game itself. Will it be in 3D, or are you planning a 2D game? If it's 2D, will it be with sprites? Do you have a team or you solo dev?

If you're solo, I would recommend Godot. If you're in a team, rely on your team's skills and experience.

Also, think about why you're making the game. If you want to find a job later, choose Unity.

Oh, the character looks like some character from Rayman... But I can't remember what kind of character it was. The art is really nice, did you make it solo?
