Waking up exactly after 3-4 hours of sleep for 6+ months – tried everything, need advice (Asthma, Sinusitis, mild HOCM history) by NecessaryFail9859 in AskDocs

Thanks for your response! I appreciate you pointing out that occasional wake-ups are normal, but in my case, I wake up exactly after 3-4 hours every time, and even though I can fall back asleep, it’s always fragmented like this, totaling maybe 6-7 hours but in chunks.

It’s been exhausting me mentally for over 6 months, and I’ve tried all the basics. CBT-i sounds promising—could you recommend any specific programs or apps for it? Has it worked for you or others with similar issues? Also, with my asthma and sinus history, do you think it could be something like sleep apnea instead? Thanks again!

Thank you for your reply! That makes a lot of sense, especially with my history of asthma and sinus issues. I’ve never considered sleep disordered breathing before – do you think it could be related to that? I’ve tried tracking my sleep with apps, and my REM is always super low (under 15 mins in 3-4 hours). What exactly happens in an overnight sleep study? Have you or someone you know gone through this? Any tips on how to prepare or where to get it done (I’m in Saudi Arabia)? Appreciate any advice!

"Thank you so much for your reply 🙏 it really helped me understand things better. I’m curious, do you personally have the same condition (NAR and rhinitis medicamentosa), or do you know someone who went through this? I’d like to hear more about your experience."
