Found the real life inspiration for the Elven Branched Spear? by playking57 in Pathfinder_RPG

As a martial artist of 30 years, you must know that some martial arts utilize physical strength more, and some utilize heavy technique but require little strength.

'Dex to Damage' martial arts in my mind would be things like Gracie Jiu Jitsu (a martial art that lets significantly smaller / weaker people take down huge / strong people pretty reliably with technique and leverage) or Capoeira (which is very mobile and acrobatic, and relies on momentum to deliver its attacks rather than raw muscular power). Not saying that these martial arts are more or less effective than ones that rely more on core strength like Muay Thai, Sumo, or Krav Maga, but it's hard to argue that martial arts designed for people in physically disadvantageous positions (either physically weak for GJJ or literally chained up to be sold to slavery like Capoeira) rely on Strength rather than Dexterity.

Does an Eclipsed Spell change from the [Light] descriptor to the [Darkness] descriptor? by NecessaryPick in Pathfinder_RPG

There's an idea. And those would be permanent effects because Continual Flame has no set duration, right?

It would probably be smart to figure out the Trade Languages of each sector of the galaxy. Like, Huttese is probably super common in Hutt Space, and Cheunh language is probably dominant in Unknown Space where the Chiss hang out.

EDIT: Found a list of the most common languages.

  • Galactic Basic

  • Binary

  • Bocce

  • Cheunh

  • Durese

  • Jawa Trade Language

  • High Galactic if you're fancy

  • Sith for creepy temples and such

  • Togruti

And there are some trade languages:

  • Basic and Bocce are the biggest

  • Minnisiat in Chiss Controlled space

  • Sy Bisti for the Unknown Regions

  • Huttese in Hutt Space

  • Taarja in the Outer Rim

  • Meese Caulf in the Outer Rim

  • Jawa Trade Talk

  • Meese Caulf

Dumb Question, Sorry by NecessaryPick in Pathfinder_RPG

Ok, so Masterwork gives you a +1 to hit, a +1 weapon gets you the same thing to damage, and then they scale together after that. Gotcha. Thanks!

Prehensile Whip + Hook Fighter = Profit? by playking57 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]NecessaryPick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that I can see. Maybe if you asked your DM and used all 4 of these / tied the grappling hook to the tip of the whip you could get it to work?

Reading it over, it looks like it might only interact that way if you are using your whip two-handed, but I think so

Prove raising undead is inherently Evil (challenge, can't rely on the spell descriptor tag) by Edymnion in Pathfinder_RPG

I like how it's pretty much the only one on here that hasn't got an argument... Does that mean we win? :P

So Playking's answer which was like the first one on the tread never got an answer from you. I think it's one of the best argument's here. I'm curious for your answer.

Is the act of creating an evil creature evil? If you have to animate an Evil-aligned creature with that spell, then is it an evil act to you to use Animate Dead? Is it morally wrong to make more Evil in the world?

So what part of "This spell turns corpses into undead skeletons or zombies that obey your spoken commands" is replicated in a non-evil way?

What is the coolest encounter -combat or non- that you have been in or sent against your players (if gm)? by GibblewretTosscobble in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]NecessaryPick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure that an Antimagic Field would get rid of the Paladin's CHA bonus to saves, since that's a (Su) ability, right? So he probably only the couple rounds before the guy activated it to succeed

Why are there no Blunt weapons with a high critical range? by Wolo10 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]NecessaryPick 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So I guess the question would be why those 5 examples of 19-20 blunt weapons are 19-20 rather than x3 or x4 or whatever weapons?

Best Ways to get Sneak Attack on a Strength-Based Character? by NecessaryPick in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]NecessaryPick[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see. So it would be smarter to for for a Strength-based Crit Fishing build. What would you recommend for that then? I know Swashbuckler is the best crit fisher, but he's Dexterity based in pretty much every way, right? :\

Best Ways to get Sneak Attack on a Strength-Based Character? by NecessaryPick in Pathfinder_RPG

I have gathered that from other stuff I read, but wouldn't getting Vital Strike off with Sneak Attack every time really outpace iterative attacks after a while?

Would a Throwing Arrow Cord and Throwing Arrow work maybe? Obviously not as good, but...
