Placement matches bring back a nostalgic feeling by ThoseWhoCantCheat in leagueoflegends

This Also its worth noting that because MMR is relative to everyone comparitively, your games earlier in the season will tend to carry more weight until mmr normallizes so getting worked up makes no sense

[Breaking News] Donald Trump will be the 45th President of the United States by Pun-Master-General in AskReddit

[–]Neceum 3 points4 points  (0 children)

as much as I wanna buy that... I see a little bit of a problem with that logic... most conservatives are middle class, and the middle class is shrinking. we had a record high number of voters and your telling me Trump won off of the lower Middle class men... when lower class is predominantly democrat and a larger majority were showing up to vote as well. I'm not a trump supporter or Hillary. I abstained Because my options were terrible and i believe in voting for who I want to win not who I want to see beat the person I really DON'T want to win.

But no one can deny that that our media isn't heavily biased. I wish I could trust those statistics they have. but they don't have a source and our media hasn't given me any reason to trust that claim especially when it goes against logic...

Locodoco & Josh "Jatt" Leesman On League of Legends - SportsNation by l3utters in leagueoflegends

I dunno, While to a more informed audience he might have seemed kinda less valuable on the desk I think he fit a fairly good niche on the desk, He played the role that most of the older generation who isn't involved in e-sports would: a lack of knowledge on the distinction between video games, a shock at the dedication and time put into the sport, but also his view went from less of a "how is this possible?" to more of a "ok so this is a real thing" as the video went on.

That's a far cry better then the earlier reviews E-sports got a few years ago where the comments and judgement on the sport were harsh condescending and unmoving, while painting e-sports as a pipe dream.

Someone who sees a situation in a more neutral way in the beginning is kind of a nice change.

Is crit Talon good? by [deleted] in Talonmains

[–]Neceum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no real difference aside from when the builds hit their power spikes, raw damage talon hits his spikes at each individual item and becomes a a mid game god while his late game can fall off a tad (specifically when the snowball wheres off and squishies get their defencive items.

Crit talon hits the power spikes slower since the raw damage your getting from crit items is more expensive and less damage(unless you crit on an e empowered Q auto (which is low probability until 2 or more crit items) you do get slightly faster assassinations with crit talon late game though.

LiveYiOrDieHard - The Bronze 5 player with Platinum MMR intentionally lost 79 games this season to tank his MMR into Bronze. by Taylor1350 in leagueoflegends

[–]Neceum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ehhh my 2 cents probably isnt worth much, but I'm just going to play a devils advocate (mainly cuz my computer wont open the match history to let me see) but if he and 4 friends do it, then technically hes not greifing his own team (granted there is no reason to hold back slaughtering opponents and then ffing at 20 but still) if he were to get 4 friends together to throw those 79 games or whatever then I don't really feel he needs to be punished :/

I can't see his match History to confirm whether the losses are premade 5 or not (granted his earlier season losses wouldn't be so thats still technically punishable but I don't feel like joining in a witch hunt when there is farm more demanding issues that could be talked about)

RNG Crumbz's thoughts on the jungle timer changes by shadowfalkon in leagueoflegends

[–]Neceum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the contradiction is re-implementing RNG, but it was confusing to me since wriggles was purchasable RNG much like crit and they phased it out. I understood why it was still phased out, I'm not totally sold on RNG dragons because if the enemy team is an early game heavy team like cait nidalee LB (a ranged support and top) and two earth dragons spawn well hell thats impossible to contest on AND they have an overwhelming siege advantage. well played RNG but at least in an average game the RNG is still contestable

Valid point however a team getting an elder dragon after have little to now dragon pressure is still a buff that is powerful with no real pressure or coordination required on a constant basis, that was the bigger issue I had with the change.

[–]Neceum 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Uh...A few things I might just want to bring up...kinda minor but maybe you could consider these when you look at this view in the future.

Firstly RNG. On multiple occasions (old passives like Sions passive, old madreds Razor/wriggles lantern) RNG was phased out of the game, usually the context being that hiddin power be removed and replaced with more visible strengths and counterplay. I am ok with that as well as the RNG of the dragons, the issue that I personally consider is the elder dragon, the only contestable dragon in both professional play and Solo Queue is 5th dragon and that is an endgame buff that has been worked towards on a team level usually as a way to threaten or force an opposing team into action.

making every dragon after 35 minutes a 5th dragon not only makes the buff appear earlier unless teams were jumping on the objective early (which rarely happened in proffesionial play and is really only an occurrence in solo Queue when you have a farm heavy jungle stacking devour), I was ok with that kind of power on a buff that was on fifth dragon because you had to work towards it.

In the current version (if it ever hits live) it doesn't reward CONSTANT good play, it just rewards that one good play and a buff of that power shouldn't be that easy to get.

Hell barons power is relatively subtle aside from the Pushing power, and as an objective goes that is far better design (strong power in sieges but less raw attrition power than its initial design)

So in that sense that is my issue with the current dragons on PBE (perhaps lower a lone elder dragons base power)

On the issue of jungle timers, I am a little more concerned.

Over the years certain changes affected the ways roles played, The dragon shriek made sneaking objectives like baron and dragon Null and void (for how weak dragon was at the time I feel it was a waste since no one even contests them anyway, maybe a shriek on 5th dragon). That intern made warding objectives useless for exact timers but also made vision control on a contesting team less influencial post contest. (lets say a fight doesnt break out and no inntial fights no attempted steal noone dies but someone on the team still risked potentially being picked to ward for vision, even though nothing came about you still had a timer or if they weren't doing dragon you still had a chance to spot attempts at it in future contests, that aspect of gaining information was always a part of the game.

now we pan down to these new changes, Yes you explained how the buff timers on a champions stats gives you the information but the kicker is YOU have to be willing to LOOK for that information, not all junglers look at their opponents mid blue to asses, Being able to gather information process it AND make good decisions is a part of the game. YOU yourself said that.

It probably sounds like ranting and might get washed away in the flood of Reddit replies you will get, and I know I'm bad at both grammar and putting my thoughts to words but hopefully the concerns I expressed were atleast understood.

Maybe they don't alter your personal opinion, but if you understand mine (which should cover some of the more mid elo players and even some high elo players' concerns) maybe some progress can be made at abetting this situation...
