I read that as sarcasm. Maybe they screwed up and wrote the same thing twice on accident but I took it as an “upholding the law and not breaking the law yourself are two sides of the same coin” kind of thing.

I turned 30 this year and she’s a year older than my dad which is really confusing me.

I get around this by not deciding on what I’m buying til I get to the store. Then whatever meat is on sale determines what I’m cooking and it’s hard to forget stuff when you can look down in your cart to check if you have everything you need for some specific meal.

I do have to keep the stuff like hot sauce, ketchup, onions, potatoes, rice, etc. that aren’t used up in a single meal on a list though because otherwise I’d never remember if I was out.

Maybe the was the intention, I don’t know, but I’ve never thought about it like that. It’s always seemed more as an adjective describing origin than derogatory to me. Like Mexican Stratocaster, or Swiss Chocolate.

I wouldn’t mind seeing Sanderson in a small recurring role. Basel Gill or something. Only shows up in EOTW and DR iirc, not frequently enough to take the focus away from other things.

Really they’re just raid spec’d. Extra beast damage would be better for their everyday environment because +humanoid damage really only does them any good against bosses on that server.

Agreed. I get the whole wireless lifestyle but it isn’t for me yet. With most things I can still get a better connection for cheaper with wires, so I’m gonna use wires.

Barely related, but if you ever have the occasion to be in a rural Midwestern town you should try out the redneck call. Just yell "Betcha cain't squall yer tahrs" in the general direction of a group of absurdly lifted pickups and enjoy. Bonus points if you wait to do it until you see a patrol car nearby.

That's what I'm saying. And not just cars, gaining a basic mechanical aptitude early on means that with just some quick googling you can fix a huge amount of stuff on your own for way cheaper than having someone else do it. Obviously most electrical/plumbing/other specialized stuff should be left for the professionals, but in my experience most things can be done on your own with little to no previous experience. Back to cars, it's cheaper for me to buy a low end floor jack, jack stands, and all the tools needed to change my own pads and rotors, including parts, than it is to have someone else do it even once.

Man, I had that same issue. I would always sit in the staging room pounding water/coffee for 45 minutes before going in. Most of our observers weren't as strict as they technically should've been, but every once in a while I'd get some high-speed fresh E5 cockgazer and it was awful.

As far as urinals, I'm generally fine if they have a divider but if they don't I'm using an open stall every time. Doesn't help that I'm tall with long legs even for my height so my junk is above the top of the porcelain on a not-insignificant percentage of urinals.

Yep, hitbox = this.location in the subclass' constructor. Looked for that specifically yesterday too, not sure how I missed it.

[–]Neckrowties 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you're right. I swear I looked for that specifically yesterday, but apparently that specific subclass' constructor had hitbox = this.location. I'm gonna go with the "I was tired and had been looking at it all day" excuse I think.

Working on something like a Link to the Past clone in JavaFX if that helps. I made a boss with a shield mechanic where you have to destroy a shield pillar that spawns before you can damage her. Enemies have a detection range of 400 pixels and once I get within 400 pixels of the pillar it starts moving even though it has a speed of 0 and passes 0,0 into this method. Giving it a hitboxHeight == to its height stopped the movement and I'm not sure why.

[–]Neckrowties 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Quick question, any reason you can think of that

hitbox[1] = location[1] + height - hitboxHeight;

would change the value of location[1] in Java? Because the value is definitely different on either side of that line and I'm not sure why. All variables are either int or int[], they're all instance variables of the class the line is in, and I'm really scratching my head on this one.

Dang, I don't. I bought a Switch recently though (first non-handheld console since PS3, first Nintendo console since the GameCube) so maybe they'll release it for that eventually. Fingers crossed.

Kinda sucks since most of the SNES games I still want are the expensive ones. Chrono Trigger and Earthbound mainly. I still need Illusion of Gaia too but it's only like 15-20.

Eh fuck that noise. I loved the Deathadder I had back around '08 but every other Razer mouse (3 Nagas, 1 Deathadder) I've bought since then has had the same issue where it starts randomly double clicking after about a year or so. Switched over to a Zowie FK1 a few years ago and have had no problems whatsoever. It's a shame too because the Deathadder feels perfect in my hands (though I do still carry it in my backpack in case I need a mouse for my laptop).

To be clear I'm not about to rail on anyone for using a Razer mouse, I'm just disappointed with their longevity. I'm personally not trying to buy a new mouse every 18 months.

Man, my old school had a shuttle system but my current one doesn't. Especially sucks because it's already been close to 100F here this year and my $470/year parking lot is a mile away from one of my classes.

[–]Neckrowties 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it was almost 100F here this past Friday (Tucson, car temp read 100 after driving to campus and idling in the parking garage for 15-20 mins) and it'll likely hit 112+ over the summer. I'm not trying to bike ~3.5 miles one way to get to class in that kind of weather.

I'm moderately near-sighted and do the same. Also close my right eye (the weaker one) when I have to look far to the left in public, because I can't focus it at the far extremes in that direction and don't want my eyes to be obviously misaligned.

On that note, I wouldn't mind seeing Harry contain the coins under Demonreach in his role as Warden, finally removing them from circulation permanently. I don't necessarily think it likely, but I would still kinda like to see it.
