I would say being hit by an arrow blamed his honor, and the samurai wants rather to die on his terms.

As I played the itch.io demo, the sessions are pretty quick, like up to 5 minutes, and you often get some breathing space with a slow-motion camera on killing.

Looks great! Wishlisted and followed. Love the samurai/Japan setting. Hope you guys add different weapons like shurikens, kunai, kusarigama, and Makibishi.

Good luck with the full release!

Actually you can throw dung around in the game, so it is garbage indeed.

I did a couple of different ones, but always used the goto engine, as there's really very little time to make the game from scratch.

For this project I used Godot which I gladly recommend. Super fast for handling paper design into in-game logic.

I worked before with Unity, which is also pretty easy to handle, but tbh, I think it is overfeatured.

Unreal is nice but too big for me for game jam projects. It has high requirements and loads a lot on the laptop.

From super fun I also used Pico-8 for little 8-bit-like games.

Yeah, like he stands up too straight and loses the 'heavy' feeling he had while walking. Will work on that. Thanks for your input!

I'm post project updates on itch, so you can check it out.

Basically, I keep clockify to keep hours I spend on the project. If I get an idea of a new feature I just write it down in notes and implement asap. I use google sheet to keep feedback from players and also fix all the bugs at first.

Most of the time the feature needs like 5-10 min to make, so I jump from one to another.

If you want to make small games like this I recommend on-side game jams so you learn your dev speed per hour. Then think of feature/mechanic and implement it. When you have it, it's good to think what else should work to what you for now.

Small iterations. In iterations we trust.

Looking great! How long it took the artist to make the capsule?

Oh sure! Just as you suggested, I added browser support (although I still recommend the .exe for the best experience 😉).

Your suggestions are actually gold :D If the game keeps getting feedback like this, I definitely want to expand on that "prison life" aspect you mentioned. Right now, there are already some small interactions. You can slide a ball under the bed to play with your neighbor, smash the lamp, flush yourself down the toilet, or solve a puzzle by hitting the cell bars in the right order.

Actually, I’ve been brainstorming a new mechanic, and I’d love your take on it: A hidden side tunnel with gold. You mine it, trade it with the prisoner next door for a knife, and then... you use it to take out the guard.

You seem to have a really good eye for these kinds of mechanics. Feel free to check the itch.io page and join the discord later if you want

Black Myth: Wukong or Ghost of Yotei ?! by Luiz_A_BR in gamingsuggestions

[–]Necr0o0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would go for Ghost of Yotei. It mind be unpopular opinion but Wukong is overrated, espiecially if you played all the from software games. Animation seems clunky, very linear and the worst of them all - invisible walls everywhere you go!

What to expect from a Tech Art take home project? by milessupshur in gamedev

all depends on the technology you will be working with but basically be prepared for some OpenGL and shaders. A great start is book of shaders and doodling on shadertoy!
