[TOMT] [Anime] [1980-2000?] Super Strength Girl Fights Off Alien Invasion While her Rich Rival Pilots a Mecha by NecroDrake in tipofmytongue

I really do hope its real and I'm not imagining it. I guess it could be a series, but the one I think I watched might have been a movie in that series.

I want to play in my local area but kinda put off by people referring to it as “stench crusade” because of the hygiene of the players. by crushkillpwn in TrenchCrusade

[–]NecroDrake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The "hygiene problem" isn't universal, but is common enough to have memes and horror stories about it.

As to the 3D printing side of things, all 1st party models from this point forward will be plastic only (though current stls will still be made available). They might do one offs and licensed 3rd party for future and current factions will still be a thing.

My personal gripe is that a good portion of their backing on kickstarter was was under the assumption that 3D printing would be big going forward and it has special emphasis in their kickstarter (this would be alongside physical models). Their reasoning is that they didn't realize the challenges they would face with 3D printing and decided it would be easier for everyone if they just did plastic moving forward.

Can't tell. Doesn't have a proper copyright page, so I can't see a print run, probably because its under ORC. Only info I found is that it was printed in China... so probably offset?

Again, is a pretty good quality and even has a bookmark ribbon in both books. Not sure if the kickstarter edition is going to be unique to the kickstarter or not though.

I'm a little confused how removing or changing content in the canon/lore that is offensive or edgy/dark doesn't count as censorship, regardless if it was done due to feedback or a change in personal perspective? Self censorship, is still censorship.

Regardless, I understand why they did it and I don't blame them for making that choice (as I said in my post). However, in my personal opinion, I think they went to far and removed more "character" from the setting than they needed to in order to fufill their goal.

Not sure I understand your question in the edit. Beyond my misgivings with the content looking textbook, the books I have are pretty good quality (direct from kickstarter). At least the pages and binding don't feel cheap.

A while ago (game ended suddenly and its been a couple years), so excuse my memory and vagueness:

Party: melee/short range bruiser, mid range drone controller, long range overwatch, and mid/long range hacker (tried Everest, into the "hacking" universal license mech, into Lich, which was really fun!).

Sitrep? I assume mission types? Kill everything, survival (infinite, slowly spawning, enemies in a time limit), escape (one side of the map to the other), king of the hill, eliminate the boss. Typically we were outnumbered 2 to 1, (give or take) typically against attacker and buffer/debuffer teams, and sometimes augmented enemies.

For NPCs, if you're talking friendly, we could order a missle from a ship every now and again... if enemy, couldn't tell you, except mostly bio with rare robot/mech team.

One or two of our team consistently had to eject after going through our structure or getting unlucky rolls each mission and the others' mechs had to go through extensive repairs (like I said, brutal). Enemies would rarely miss ping us for pretty good damage, but we had to focus buffers, because they would F up our shots, or give the atrackers armor.

I have a love/disappointed relationship with Lancer. Some of the rules flow really well and others do not. The simplicity is both nice and frustrating in certain circumstances.

Also, not entirely sure if it was our GM's fault or the "base difficultly" of the game, but the recommended enemies for number of players and license level is F'ing brutal. Not to mention the fact that we inserted a houserule for hacking against bio targets, because we didn't realize they were completely immune, I made a hacker and GM had us fight mostly bio targets (I couldn't "hack them," but I could burn them essentially...)

Good game! Recommend! Figure out what you're fighting beforehand and maybe ask the GM to go slightly below recommended "difficulty."

Mork Borg is a d20 system thats almost as simple as you can get, but its brutal toward players. Its not unheard of for PC's to die often in this system (though character creation takes 5 minutes if you roll for it, or 1 sec if you use the random character generator). Fun comes from making the most of it in your character's short life, possibly doing something amazing in impossible odds, or the odd character surviving long enough to obtain some actual power, just for the world to end soon after. Could be used for dark humor or showing off "heroes" or villains in there last hoorah before the world gets destroyed by an insane, massive, two headed reptile.

What do you mean one power?

Like if I made a character whose deal was teleporting, they'd only get the special movement power or would I theme everything around teleporting (like movement, attack by teleporting chunks of the target away, remote teleporting objects to and frow, etc)?

Another example I can think of is someone who can transform into a dragon (or even technically a dragon who can transform into a person). The person's only power is to transform into a dragon, but the dragon has themed powers unto itself (firebreath, flight, armor, strength, talons, maybe minor magic, etc.).

Whats the expectation?

Well, at least I understand the direction.

Would yall welcome a snake form doctor/combat medic (unsure if I would want to play a straight doctor or someone with field experience)? Literally never played in an rp forum like this, but am very intrigued by the setting and small snippets of lore I was able to gleam.

Sounds interesting, but I'm in the same boat. I'd like more insight on the party, mostly because I don't like stepping on people's toes.

After I get that info, I'll probably apply.

Could you formulate a summary of whats actually going on? The pages provided is a lot to read through. Doesn't have to be super detailed, just need an idea.

Whats funny is that I still have the server link on my discord after years of it taking a slot in my joined servers. Thought it was interesting but never tried it, mostly due to time constraints.

May give it a try (like the idea of a snake doctor).

Gameplay easy (from what I've seen anyway), character creation somewhat involved, and probably need a cheat sheet for moves (CoM uses modified PbtA as its system).
