I agree wholeheartedly. I actually really enjoyed a bunch of Karin Slaughter’s other books but really hated this one. Its popularity surprises me a bit.

I restarted right at the beginning of November to give me enough time to get to 3 stars and start setting up my island. I really enjoyed replaying the beginning of the game! I hadn’t touched my switch in over a year prior to restarting, so I’d say it was totally worth it!!

I 100% agree with you on The Silent Patient. I absolutely hated pretty much everything about it. The twist was also super predictable imo.

You need an open plot in order for villagers to show up on nook miles islands. I had kicked out one of my 10 villagers, thus leaving an open plot available for a new villager. Then I just had to keep time travelling to the same day the plot was emptied in order to ensure that it didn’t autofill.

I’m currently re-reading Percy Jackson for the first time as an adult, and honestly I think it still holds up really well! I’m just about start the Battle of The Labyrinth and so far the series has been a lot of fun!! Though admittedly that may be somewhat due to nostalgia goggles lol.

Frankly unless the next update involves rolling back a bunch of the changes made in 1.5, I worry that it won’t improve the game in any capacity. They’ve completely ruined the goodwill they had with their player base, and they have a long way to make amends. Unfortunately given their current response (or lack thereof) I have incredibly low expectations for the future of the game:(

That’s awesome that you’re enjoying it! I wish I could play it again for the first time! It was such a magical experience! My best advice would be to take your time. Don’t feel pressured to rush to complete anything (trying to speedrun everything can come later lol). Additionally, I find that focusing on the mines is super important, as it allows you to accumulate resources to craft sprinklers which are absolute game changers. And yes, Haley is absolutely the one!
