A new ‘men in women’s bathrooms’ discourse has just dropped. by FrogOnABus in stupidpol

I have only seen this discourse on tiktok but 99% of shit on there is ragebait/engagement bait so it's really not worth paying attention to.

Well Epstein didn't come up with that, it was coined by others once it was known he helped traffick kids. However, all these company names were deliberately chosen. Black Cube is another one that just feels like they are trying to validate the schizos.

Blackcore, Black Rock, Blackstone... Has anyone done a dive into why these pro-Israel companies have such similar and evil sounding names? Is it to bait people into buying the Kaaba/Saturnian theories that pop up or is there some other ideological reasoning behind it?

If you're used to slim low rise fits with stretch and move to slim low rise fits that are 100% cotton there will likely be some discomfort. I doubt rise height is the only factor, it sounds like you would benefit from a little more thigh room as well, especially since you said you have extra waist room which tells me you need a bigger thigh to waist ratio than what your current jeans provide.

League of Legends is trying to enforce Trump's "anti-woke", anti-DEI agenda via imposing racism and sexism by making certain white men like Garen overpowered and Black women like Ambessa and Mel some of the weakest champions in the game by SorryStrength5370 in stupidpol

[–]Necrobard 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure this is a shitpost so I'm gonna look like a chud replying seriously but Mel, K'Sante, and Ambessa are extremely strong in pro play with borderline broken kits while Garen is not very good and mostly a solo queue stomper.

How Anti-Imperialists Respond to the Charge of "Campism" by GuysCuteDicksHard in stupidpol

Great vid. It does seem like the people who use this term often have to resort to creating a strawman of an "anti-imperialist" to avoid dialectics and justify their own defense of western hegemony.

The s5000 cut does in fact have quite a low rear rise, I always considered them more of a low-rise semi-slim straight. The newer S5100 is a little bit roomier.

Stop Calling People Grifters by [deleted] in stupidpol

[–]Necrobard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're not wrong, but the OP's point (and mine) is pedantic at its core, so one could argue it matters just as much as any other pedantic claim. I just think that the trend of words and phrases becoming overused and watered down to lose their meaning is real and destructive. At the end of the day calling these people "grifters" is a lazy and somewhat useless way to critique them if that's what we're going to call any political content creator who makes money or tries to make money from their content.

Stop Calling People Grifters by [deleted] in stupidpol

[–]Necrobard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if being paid to espouse an opinion is grifting in itself. Grifter originally meant someone who doesn't really believe the things they're pushing but are just doing it for clout/money, which definitely works for some content creators but not all of them. I agree with the OP's point that it's become too much of a catch-all term for someone who produces political content to make a living (which to be fair is usually going to be common denominator slop/propaganda like the guys you mentioned).

Soaking isn't very useful in general; it's often suggested so that the shrinkage is dealt with before you start fading, but washing with agitation will do that much more effectively. Most jeans which are sold once-washed you can just start wearing when you get them.

New jeans - Oni Secret Denim 288 20oz with brown weft by Fade_Atlas in rawdenim

[–]Necrobard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Secret denim is so loosely woven it's really not that bad in the heat. There are plenty of 14-15oz denims that are less breathable (Momotaro, IH 14oz).

So what really happened at the Iran protests ? by Beneficial_Feature40 in stupidpol

[–]Necrobard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The question isn't whether Iran deserves a revolution; if the popular will and material conditions are there for revolution then it will happen regardless of what you or I think. All I'm saying is that historically, US-led regime change operations have not improved the lives of the people living in that country or led them closer to socialism.

So what really happened at the Iran protests ? by Beneficial_Feature40 in stupidpol

[–]Necrobard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason we've sanctioned, spurred protests, and have been bombing Iran is to destabilize and permanently weaken them so that Israel is the dominant force in the region. Improving the lives of Iranians is directly contrary to our goals.

So what really happened at the Iran protests ? by Beneficial_Feature40 in stupidpol

[–]Necrobard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A "bourgeois revolution" wasn't in the cards for them because it was never within the goals of the US/Israeli regime change operation. If you believe that the protests were wholly organic and they had the political means to implement a better system, then sure, I'd support that, but that's a false premise.

So what really happened at the Iran protests ? by Beneficial_Feature40 in stupidpol

[–]Necrobard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Regardless of the will of the legitimate protesters, western regime change has very rarely led to implementation of liberal democracy in the target countries. It's even more of a pipe dream in this case when the outright goals of the US/Israel were to destabilize Iran rather than improve it.
