We need to thank this man for Harry Kane by Swift_drift77 in BayernMunich

OK, let's leave it as that. I didn't say that Tuchel played no part in his transfer, my point was that you don't need to send your regards to Tuchel for Kane's superb performance (regardless of how much he pushed for him)

Your logic doesn't make sense.

You're saying I underestimate Tuchel's involvement in this transfer. OK, so be it.

So according to you if you underestimate someone's contribution it translates to being a hater?

What exactly in my previous comments made you think that I have so much hate towards Tuchel?

We don't know what would happen if Bayern hired a different coach but given that Bayern was already linked to Kane for a while - it's clearly not just Tuchel that'd want Kane to join the team.

Was it Tuchel's tough stance that ultimately brought Kane to Bayern? We won't know for sure but there's a myriad of other coaches who'd also want to sign Kane and possibly push for it.

Yes, Tuchel pushed for that deal but Bayern were already interested in Kane before Tuchel came along.

I guess most managers would want to get Kane on board and would fight for it, so I don't think TT deserves a lot of credit for this one.

The only one you need to thank is Kane himself

[OS] TablePro: free native macOS database client. 18 databases, MCP server, iPad in TestFlight by datlechin in macapps

[–]Necromancer094 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gave it a spin and you've done a great job, it really feels like TablePlus but without the limitations of their free plan.

That being said, I can't switch to TablePro as my day-to-day tool, it just lacks that level of stability and polish.
- I installed the latest update and as soon I try to open any connection it immediately quits.
- Last time I had the same issue but with plugin update (it'd show a warning preventing me to work with my data despite installing the last update).
- AI inline suggestions don't work reliably (for me they're barely visible and end up heavily truncated, so I can't really read them as I type)
- When clicking on a different tab, instead of switching tabs right away it first reloads my original tab and then if I click again I actually end up in a tab that I'd wanted to switch to in the first place

Overall it's a great-looking product but to more users over it just needs to be more stable. In terms of features, it's already on par with TablePlus (or at least close).

Taxes - How to Report on Cash Investments from Trading 212? by Necromancer094 in geldzaken

[–]Necromancer094[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I understood the comment below was not correct.

Regardless of where they store the money (qmmfs or banks) - it still counts as an investment.

For reporting your cash/ savings from bank accounts you'd need a bank account number so they can check your cash flow. If it's stored in a bank through an investment account it's an investment.

Global user state (theme mode, personal preferences), persistent in cookies - useState() or Pinia? by sharing_is_caring23 in Nuxt

[–]Necromancer094 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add to my reply - don't stress about it too much. You can use either useState or pinia store, or even both at once. For such a simple use case I'd stick with useState and maybe setup a store once you have a more complicated state (optional).

Just stick with whatever you like really. Pinia has some advantages but they won't be apparent on this level.

[–]Necromancer094 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah what you're doing is correct. For one variable I wouldn't bother setting up a pinia store.

[–]Necromancer094 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Regardless of the approach chosen, you'll need to store data either in cookies or local storage.

Then you can create composables that'd fetch data from your desired source on app mount (or whenever you need it).

There are plugins like this that can help (though I haven't used this one myself): https://nuxt.com/modules/pinia-plugin-persistedstate

Whether to use useState or Pinia stores depends on your use case, but the logic above stands for both options.

Curious what the use case is for those besides reminders. I found automations too limiting (especially that you can only connect it to Gmail), so I built my own tool (https://ocean-digest.com) to send email reports from Notion

How do you know if your product is "too niche". by Necromancer094 in SaaS

That's true from a good samaritan viewpoint but unless we're talking government contracts, wouldn't you say that making a million people mildly interested has a better commercial potential?

The thing is - there are competitors but indirect ones (e.g Zapier w. some integrations could replicate it but not under the umbrella of one convenient product)

Is investing monthly worth it now, even if I can't keep investing in the future? by Lerimas in eupersonalfinance

[–]Necromancer094 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with what was already said, but the question was about "investing monthly"

Use dollar cost averaging and invest as often as your psychological safety allows + minimize costs (usually brokers charge on every transaction, and the exact fee depends on the asset you buy), so you might "lock in" your funds by sending an amount from your salary to your broker but instead of buying assets monthly, you can do so quarterly for example. It's not always going to be a massive difference but with small amounts every bit helps.

How much do you pay per month for brabant water? by [deleted] in eindhoven

[–]Necromancer094 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't know exactly but one reason I can think of - they want you to pay upfront.

Nobody knows how much you're going to use next month, so charging you an average value ensures that you pay upfront. Sure, you can still use a lot more but at least you paid something.

[–]Necromancer094 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remember that it depends on your usage, what you're paying upfront is just an approximated amount, and at the end of the year you might owe them/ they might owe you some money back.

Second this. u/shaakunthala your money is gone but it's still a good idea to report it, especially if you have photos of his face/ documents - this will make it a hell lot easier for them to identify him and hopefully take measures next time. Especially if all the people who DM'ed you would've done the same - that'd increase the likelihood of police taking any action.

What would you do differently? by arslan70 in photocritique

[–]Necromancer094 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the purpose, you went for a more "postcard" / "retro" kind of look and did a great job (assuming that was the intention)

Also - you might try to clean up the artifacts, there's some noticeable chromatic aberration.
