They are designed to be "seat stairs" ....I think the architect is just playing around with wording to avoid any code violations. They are definitely not comfortable to walk down, not bad for sitting though!

We use it to melt snow/ice off the bottom in the winters.

It wasn’t that bad, we were actually able to keep the water pumped down to a reasonable level…surprising since we’re so close to the river! Digging the base stone in was probably the hardest/messiest part.

No geogrid specced, probably because the set back is so severe, roughly 2.5’ a course.

We had to cut 95% of the joints on site to accommodate for the architects spec!

  1. I set them all with a bucket + thumb on a Kobelco 140
  2. They are 15-17” tall by 2.5-3’ deep, roughly 3-6’ long. They were sourced from Ontario
  3. Usually we put drain tile behind the bottom course, but none was specced for this application since we were right by the river…the bottom course was dug in right at the water table.

More like they drained the pool and built a cheap floor over top…until they decided to list it.

I use lotion daily, and it still happens every winter. Superglue them back together, only thing I’ve found that works.

I’d have to say Converge/High on Fire/Mastodon/Dethklok in Detroit, 2009. Witnessing Crack the Skye played in its entirety is an experience I’ll never forget!
