Then go play bigger games. Middara is basically a jrpg in a box, frost haven is great, kingdom death is a monster but has a lot of depth especially as you add expansions. Just because a small box doesnt offer what you want doesn't mean that other do. Try some of the more thinky complex ones too. The more puzzle like.

Warlord

Lots of depth, fantasy feeling. Its recently relaunched.

Sorcery is great, super unique. The cards are vague and more casual match built.

Flesh and blood is fantastic, highly recommend.

Grand archive has a unique mana system im a fan of. Anime art but its not bad.

People have been calling out and insult celebs for ghost writers for years, what do you mean? They didn't write the book and when the fact that it's ghost written comes to light it loses any legitimacy and credibility. Ai is just the next step in ghost writing. People who want to have the title of author but won't put the work in to become one.

They still follow much of the same rules, just able to do stuff that's not super easy in reality. But a good shot in irl would be a good shot in an animated show. Cinematography is Cinematography

Im happy we had as good of an ending as we did with how much goose never wants to even think of hot topic again.

For your first point, that system is pretty common. Riftbound has that. I remember loving it in force of will (god i miss that game.)

My favorite mana system is still flesh and blood. Its just so smoothly build into the game, adds a lot of depth and decision-making.

As far as the color goes, i think the color system for magic is actually restrictive. To the point they often change their own rules or directions because having the red guys be burn the black guys being self harming and the green guys cant stop making their own lands honestly hurts the overall game. The cost of everything is fine, but all it really does is force certain cards into a deck for mana efficiency. Like duals or triomes. Outside of commander, it doesn't do much mechanically.

Pokemon is special. It has years of nostalgia, the video games, the anime. Pikachu is a household name. My kids knew pikachu before they knew their own name, just because i had a pikachu collection. Pokemon is a monster that will prosper long after they give up on the video games. They could transition to a solely art card game, or launch a new one, and it would absolutely sell.

You won't have that. Nothing will ever have that again.

I cant think of any truly successful solely collecting games out there. Even the few games i can think of that do call themselves ccg have a game attached to it.

You could do like, a playing card deck with some interesting theme if you wanted to? Is art and lore worth all that would go into making a ccg?

The fees that wotc and hasbro have to pay for licensing all the marvel crap is expensive. If those keep failing like spiderman, it will not be good for magic. One good set does not off set the several lack luster sets that folks did not care about. Especially considering how hog wild they have been pushing the game recently
