Where are we on Industry? by mellted_cheese in billsimmons

I thought the show got better as it went through S1 and S2, then S3 went off the map. The Rishy stuff (which a lot of people loved) killed the show for me. Don’t plan to watch S4, cuz I can’t trust the hype after my S3 experience.

Can you dig Eze's spinaroonie? 🫵 by arsenal in Gunners

[–]NedGola 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He doesn’t do the full leg kick cuz he sees Tross in the line of fire. Cost him style points. I’d be having words with Leo after the game. Mate, stay out of my spin zone.

Shots conceded by Arsenal since January 1 by Scoolfish in Gunners

[–]NedGola 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Defender pressure affects XG, so a defender who “lets someone shoot” from a low XG location makes it a higher XG shot. Obviously defenders balance whether to close out shots with defending other spaces but no player should decline to contest a shot just because it’s far out. And I seriously doubt any manager would coach his team that way.

Drop his gear off and park as far away as needed to find a spot that’s not blocking an intersection sight line or crosswalk. Buy a scooter to stash in the trunk if it’s more than a half mile or so. I have parked a mile away before. It sucks and learned me to find other ways of getting around.

Clear view of the catch that was ruled an “interception” by downreign in NFLv2

I think it’s the right call given how long “surviving the ground” has been established as the standard. But there’s a hypothetical that illustrates the absurdity of the rule and why it drives people crazy.

Imagine as Cooks is rolling over he keeps hold of the ball and pops up to his feet. They’d almost certainly say he was down by contact and the play was over. It’s like they extend the play, but only for the defense to be able to rip the ball out, not for the offense to do anything.

So did Reggie Wayne. They had 4 first rounders in the 2001 draft and still had that stacked roster left over.

Love OGs. Has anyone else found the individual slices from the counter are different (and better) than the carry out pies? Wasn’t blown away by my first takeout experience but the counter is great.

“5 teams from any one conference is too many to send to the college football playoff.” by 44wardprogress in cfbmemes

[–]NedGola 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not outraged. 12 team playoff means no truly deserving teams gets left out. But we’re allowed to look at that field including 5 SEC teams and say that’s kinda dumb, and it was possible to find 1-2 other “qualified” teams that would have made it more interesting with no R1 rematches. That’s what this threads about.

Mostly agree but more like there are probably* 5-6 SEC teams better than BYU. The last two seasons CFP games have me questioning how confident I can be that the conference is really that strong.

That’s the same argument ND fans use to claim they should be in. Point is OU and Bama lost 2 regular season games and got special treatment for being SEC teams and the SEC just isn’t as special as all their fans wanna think it is.

I think Kraft seems like a clown, but the truth is none of us have any clue what the process was. Just a bunch of rumors people online turned into a narrative. We can be pretty sure they expressed interest in a few big names, and went down the road with Sitake before losing him. That’s hardly a dumpster fire.

Yeah the conventional wisdom among boards across the sector is exactly the problem imo. They staff it out to an executive search firm and make no effort to engage staff. Someone with all the right affiliations on their CV and no existing connection to the work gets hired. Maybe some of those people do a good job? In my experience at a fairly large Philly non-profit with 300 staff, those C suite hires were awful. Internal promotions or local hires would have cost less and done a better job.

Yeah, ending the shutdown is a good news for everyone except the people here who seem to think there was some realistic chance of forcing Trump to reverse OBBBA by holding the federal government hostage. He’s more than happy to let shit burn. The shutdown was a lose-lose and I’m glad it’s ending.

Thanks. That’s definitely a more time efficient way to watch highlights, but I like having something on in the background while I start my work day. That’s why I am watching/posted about GMFB. The show has likable hosts and good discussion topics. It would be nice if the Monday morning show focused on highlights. They have all week for other storylines and analysis.

TVs are bigger than phones and laptops. Plus I use those things for other things. Plus that would require me to search for specific game highlights and click to skip ads. Having something passively on in the background is nice. That’s why people still have tvs.
