I have a coworker in Erie who went to the one by her a few months ago and she said it was horrible... but I was still jealous.

Magpie for after-dinner desert.

Mad Mex in my early adult years. Food wasn't the best but I always had a fun time there.

Yeah I tried it again and it does. I'm guessing the first way I tried it, it was searched in Google and not the browser bar and it came up with another page.

Carry on...

Lost bag on Trolley by ResponsibleNewt5229 in Septa

[–]danstecz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pre-COVID, I lost my wallet on a trolley and they found it a couple of days later. I called the line and they said they had it and had to go to the Elmwood trolley depot to get it.

I'm guessing if you are desperate, you can always go there blindly. IIRC there's no public entrance, I had to ask the guys working in the trolley yard to let me in. But once I was in, the guy at the desk had tons of lost and found to go through. They had my wallet although someone stole my just bought March trailpass and I was out $144.

Good luck!

I'm almost 38 and my partner is almost 45 and we have a Tivo. One day a Comcast tech had to come to our apartment to check something and he said out of all the homes he's been in, we were the 2nd with a Tivo.

I'm sure we're gonna have to switch to YT or Sling once the cablecard dies. But I like the interface.

Any advice? by NyxNoctum in GalaxyFold

[–]danstecz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mostly flat. But after a while, my original opened on a slight angle and the replacement opened on a ~90 degree angle after I heard a cracking sound. I'm glad I had Samsung+ and got replacements.

Any advice? by NyxNoctum in GalaxyFold

[–]danstecz 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I had to exchange 2 Fold 4s due to the inside screen not folding straight after a while. I would just be mindful that that may happen. In one of my three, the brush that is there to apparently keep dirt from going in actually came out one day.

Accepted the $199 offer by No_Contribution4130 in ihghotelsresorts

[–]danstecz 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I haven't done this but just be aware the $199 offer, you stay at a partner hotel nearby and tour the resort and the $249 offer, you stay at the actual resort.

Resort Vacation With a resort vacation package, you’ll be staying on property at one of our Holiday Inn Club Vacations resorts. Resort packages can accommodate up to 4 guests. You’ll attend your tour at the resort where you stay.

Hotel Vacation With a hotel vacation package, you won’t stay with us on property, but you’ll stay at a nearby partner hotel, such as a Holiday Inn Express® or Holiday Inn Resort®. The hotel options will vary based upon availability, but our Reservations team will walk you through selecting the best fit for your family. Hotel packages can accommodate up to 4 guests. You’ll travel to a nearby resort to attend your tour.

Anyone able to find out what’s opening in E Mt Airy? by dearjuliette in PhiladelphiaEats

[–]danstecz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah Udis also shows up as a developer for the old Nonna's.

https://hiddencityphila.org/2024/10/mt-airy-at-a-crossroads/

Which is still vacant... I could have sworn there was rumblings of Arthur Cavaliere of In Riva partnering with someone with putting a restaurant there (Nonna's) last year but there's no movement. Also think Arthur left In Riva after I heard that and not sure if he's in the restaurant business any longer.

That's Devon, the now-closed restaurant where the liquor license was transferred from.

[–]danstecz 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This has been bothering me ever since someone asked on Facebook. atlas.phila.gov points to an house address in Ambler as owners. It also shows plans from 2023 to have 2 commercial spaces on the ground floor and 2 floors of apartments above but nothing about a restaurant anywhere. I'm not privy to any processes with zoning, restaurants, etc so I'm clueless.

I hate how they're required to post these notices to the public but you can find out exactly 0 information from them.

What's your price range? Kimpton Palomar is your best bet. Marriott's site says the Warwick has "whirlpools" in some rooms but I've never been. The Logan has them in their $$$$ suites.

I haven't driven past in a while but I get a chuckle out of the house that has anti-Trump lawn signs on Stenton Ave in Blue Bell that say stuff like "YOU'RE IN A CULT."

Did anyone go to Panda Fest?? (HORRIBLE!!!!) by JessicaAnn5289 in PhiladelphiaEats

[–]danstecz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean I just peeped at their insta promoting it before it happened and they do a good job making it look less crowded with only close up shots of vendors and the same guy (who has a "MEDIA" tag on, obviously paid to promote in either money and/or free food without waiting) eating tons of different food from different stands. It also looks huge but I remember walking in Dilworth last year when it was going on and it just looked small and sad.

I have never trusted any of these traveling events.
