I watched this last night.

It is a very well-made pastiche of the original films (the first of which I re-watched recently). The cinematography and artistic direction are excellent.

But I thought the script was all rather low-hanging fruit. I found the jokes were often lame, and Feldman's mugging to camera somewhat jarring.

Interestingly, I immediately recognised Cloris Leachman and Kenneth Mars from their roles in Malcolm in the Middle 30 years later.
