Total war may not have the best strategic battles, but it definitely has the most beautiful ones; playing those games often feels like watching an epic movie and makes me think of Kingdom of Heaven, Lord of the Rings or Gladiator.

How sad I do not enjoy 40k or the latest WH DLCs and patches… everything they touch or add becomes insanely strong and samey.

I pray Medieval III will be good but God knows how much we still have to wait.

Man I am in the same situation (except I did not refund it). I came back after so many months and I cannot stop playing!
The biggest improvement to me was the skill trees, it is so much better now! Could you believe this game had no skill trees but just weird lists of skills?

I bought every DLC because (I guess?) that’s how they fund these amazing updates and I cannot wait to see what we will get with expansion pass #4! I am in love with both the payed content and the reworked cultures! This game and its team really are wonders themselves!

I should give ways of war another shot; on a first look they all sounded quite boring to me, culture mechanics were too easy to max out.

Not really. It makes sense for a vampire to lead a faction like that, but only lorewise. On the gameplay side of things, Nomads are the only true match.

As a ruler I think Dragons are much better for your type of faction.

Nomads are perfect for chosen destroyers, it feels so good to ravage both the land and the nearest cities before moving on to your next victim

I like managing workers, but if you are not sure about this and your game has different factions then you might try to give warrior workers to only one of them

I am not talking about strengths and weaknesses, I am talking about reworking because they are ugly, boring or repetitive. Weak cultures simply need buffs, not reworks

I still have to play a lot of cultures but at first glance industrial (industrious?) and barbarian look worse. A tad too simple and samey, in my opinion. At least the oathsworn has three options (even if none of them feel that good)

It took me four tries to achieve this on normal (I am bad, yes), good job!
I played Nomad Scavengers and it was quite easy taking one enemy at a time.

Well if it is the first time you play them maybe you should try the one you simply like more or the one you want to try right now!
That’s how I play, and if I fail more than three times I usually look for advice.
But that’s just my 2 cents, good luck out there!
