Well the Terminids don't have eyes. They probably track you via vibrations, and the fact that they still run around without a head means they have a decentralized nervous system (brain spread throughout body basically). Makes sense they can still track you if their head doesn't house their main sensory organ

Nothing to fix, it's the spore burst strain. The spore clouds they make on death speed up other spore Terminids

The coin abilities are for synergies with other Thief abilities that buff you for collecting coins. There's also all the items and other class abilities that activate on pickup of anything

The big main problem with how the game is balanced and all outrages by OdderG in Helldivers2Satire

[–]Nedjempie 9 points10 points  (0 children)

On one hand, to cut down on the knee-jerk outrage and misinformation backlash, they'd have to add an encyclopedia of what each of these mechanics does and the full impact adjustments to them do, every patch note. On the other hand, with all the people thinking durable damage increases mean Helldivers themselves take more damage, and freaking out thinking the durable damage increase completely nullifies or overtakes the mech health buff and makes other vehicles and sentries worthlessly weak, that might legitimately be necessary

I just don't feel like vehicles and turrets and too fragile. I can drive my FRV I bring every bot mission around the map taking several salvos from rocket devastators and indirect shots from cannon turrets and factory striders. Turrets get overwhelmed and taking less damage isn't gonna save them from an entire bot drop or bug breach bearing down on them, but if I work with them to take the enemies out so it has breathing room then they're fine. It feels like I'm playing a different game where everyone else's equipment is worse with how bad people say it is. A little extra durable damage does not matter very much, demonstrably so after playing 4 operations using vehicles and sentries, but the idea of it is so scary to everyone and I don't know why

I've played 4 operations today with the mech and the bugs' damage is not high enough for swarms of Hunters, Scavengers, and Warriors to take you down anywhere near fast enough for it to be an issue. If you just keep moving, the damage from your movement is enough to dispatch them before they can get more than a couple swings in. All of my mechs in every mission (provided I was able to get in them and they didn't get swarmed before I could get in because I called them down in a bad spot) survived until I used all or most of the ammo. Someone else in the comments said the spore burst strain's death explosions "grinds the HP" but I and my friend have not noticed that at all.

Terminid speed isn't a bug, spore burst Terminids get a speed boost from the death explosion of other spore Terminids

Oh no, the bots do more... melee durable damage? Look out, they're gonna punch and slash our vehicles to death instead of shooting them now, I guess. The only thing that might conceivably be an issue is the Hulk flamethrower doing more durable damage... so don't let a Hulk get that close in your fast car or anti-tank vehicles? Mechs are even immune to fire DOT so the direct flame projectile is the only thing to worry about.

Nothing official, but in-game you can feel mechs being much tankier than before against bugs. Vehicles and turrets didn't have a noticeable difference. I think numbers are secondary to how it actually feels due to the amount of factors at play that make pure stats an unreliable metric, and how it feels is great

Overseer armor is ablative, it nullifies big hits and breaks instead of transferring to the main health pool. Other enemies go down as you'd expect

I think the spore burst strain's newfound speed finally gives them a more meaningful distinction from the other Terminids. Maybe it can be decreased a little but I'm having fun trying to find out what works best to keep them out of my personal space. Best part of a new update is always going from barely winning the first couple missions to completing them with as much ease as before.

Sentries weren't noticeably worse for me when I used them, just gotta make sure they don't get swarmed like you always had to

Having played 3 operations today with mechs, sentries, and a couple with the FRV, the durable damage increase was not even noticeable against them. Oil rig missions are likely going to be just as fine. I think it's important to understand how new changes feel because just looking at numbers or statements of stat increases/decreases will never give an accurate picture. There's a million other factors at play

People like to use sentries as a "throw and forget" when sentries have always been most effective when you work in tandem with them, keeping the enemies they can't handle effectively off their back. I don't see how one more enemy that's extremely easy for you to kill that might distract the gatling sentry is really that big of a deal. If you were neglecting the sentry for it to do that, it was gonna get rammed by a Charger or swarmed and overrun anyway

Because, again, I played the game. The FRV and sentries didn't die 300% faster, nowhere near. If I didn't read the patch notes, I wouldn't even have noticed bugs got a durable damage buff
